Loved from a distance: by David Mullins

He never even knew it,but she loved him
She thought of him and laid awake at night
wishing she could find the nerve to tell him
she loved him with a love so true and right

The years went by and still her courage failed her
She watched him as he led the normal life
A job down at the factory he managed
And soon he had a baby and a wife

From a distance she still watched and always loved him
Wishing for the things that couldn't be
Passing by him on the street she always nodded
And the nod back was her only chance to see

As time went slowly by her poor heart saddened
and when his wife decided they should part
She knew that she should call and tell her feelings
But a cold gray wall of doubt now held her heart

Now an aging woman walks along the sidewalk
And her old legs barely make her normal rounds
As she passes by his house her heart is heavy
For one year ago they placed him in the ground

There's a moral to this story you should cling to
Never let a chance of love slip through your hands
Shout it out to all the world so they will hear you
For a heart that is divided cannot stand

Once I was the same: by  David Mullins

I sense the pain you feel inside
It shakes you to the core
You've lost the one who meant the world
the skies above and more

your lonely days and sleepless nights
pierce your very soul
But listen to me now my friend
for i've been there before

Yes once i lived in misery
my heart had been abused
I cried alone on sleepless nights
and felt the way you do

I cursed my God and begged to die
my heart torn from my breast
in endless hours of numbing need
My soul did have no rest

But one day clouds all rolled away
and a brightness slowly came
Trust me friend, love will live again
For once i was the same
