Lone Trouble

She dreams of places
that no one can see,
her heart is in places
which she can only dream.
I reach out to touch her
but she's not awake,
daydreaming of something
she can never have,
only in her sleep
is her heart able to smile.

She awakes suddenly
with a tear below her eye,
knowing she's lonely
unable to hide herself any more,
she closes her eyes again
to dream of everything,
what she knows she can't have.

Nothing burns her more
then the coldness he left,
for her to deal with
She sleeps again
to sooth the pain,
to calm the burning inside
and to wash the tears away.
Nothing is real to her,
it hurts too much to feel,
Dreams are the reality
in which she lives,
no one can wake her
nothing can be done
to save her
from her own worst enemy,
her lone trouble.
