| Tasman Peninsula: 1854/1855 |
| George Joseph Sheppard was posted to the Tasman Peninsula with the 99th Regiment in early 1854 and again later that year. Although there were other postings on the Tasman Peninsula, it is possible he was stationed at Port Arthur itself. Son John Thomas died 19th July at Tasman Peninsula although it appears that George was posted to NSW at this time. It is possible that wife Matilda stayed in Tasmania whilst George was posted away. |
