| Maria sat and stared at Michael with a look of pure shock and disgust on her face. �He wants me to pretend to be with him? Why in gods green earth would I ever do that? God what would people think? I would officially have any semblance of the reputation I hold slashed in a second.� Maria could see nothing right with this situation and was quick to cut off any of the ideas going around in his head. �Are you crazy. Do you know what you would do to me? Brian would loose all respect he has for me. Not to mention that if I stooped to your level I would loose all of the respect I have for myself.� �Oh yes you being around me will make you so unpopular. Look this is how I see it, you are not even a blip on the social radar here and nothing will piss Court off more than to see me with the likes of you!� �Oh my god is that your sick idea of flattery �cause if it is you have to seriously work on you people skills.� With that Maria took one last lingering look at Brian and stalked off to Math class so pissed that Michael could be that insulting, and even more pissed off at herself that she was considering it. ** Later at the Crashdown** Maria pulled her long blonde hair up in a ponytail and tied her apron around her waist. The dinner rush at the Crashdown had just started and poor Liz was out there all alone. Maria walked through the break room doors and scanned her section; Liz had already taken everybody�s order except table four. �Oh my god Brian is sitting at a table in my section. I actually get to talk to him.� Maria walked over to table four positive that this would be the time that Brian would notice her and that she wouldn�t need to join forces with that @#%$ Guerin to get what she wants. �Hi, welcome to the Crashdown, My name is Maria and I will be your waitress for the evening. Can I start you off with a drink or do you already know what you want?� �Hi Maria, I actually know what I want. I would like an Alien Blast and Saturn Rings.� His order was abrupt and right to the point but Maria wasn�t fazed at all �Oh my god he knows my name. I knew he liked me too and was to afraid to admit it.� Maria went and handed the order into Jose and looked around the caf� again. Everybody but three tables had their orders and Liz was making her way over to the counter. �I have to tell Liz this is the greatest thing that has happened to me since I got that car for my birthday� �Oh my god Lizzie he knows my name!!!!!� �Okay, who knows your name?� �Hello, who else would I be this happy about? It was Brian. I went to take his order and when he gave it to me he said my name.� �Maria you do realize you told him your name in the introduction right?� All the air seemed to deflate out of Maria for a split second but then she cheered again. �I may have said my name but he looked at me and he recognized me so it is still a very good day. I am actually making progress and without the help of Michael Guerin. �Hey Maria, hot lips, table four is up.� God could Jose be anymore sexist Maria thought. Maria grabbed Brian�s order and walked as sexy as she could towards his table. As she placed the order down she smiled and knew that this would be the moment he noticed her and fell just as in love as she was. Instead he just started eating and mumbled a quick thanks. �Well enjoy your meal Brian and just wave me over if you need anything� Brian looked up with a weird look on his face and stared at her. �Do I know you?� Maria�s heart hurt to hear him say this. At that moment Michael and his friends walked in the door. Maria marched up to him; she grabbed his arm and pulled him into the break room much to the surprise of Liz and all of his buddies. �Look I don�t like you and I probably never will. Whenever I see you I wont get all giddy and excited like all the brainless Barbie�s in school. And when you decide to be gracious enough to bestow a smile on me I will not swoon.� Maria was making little to no sense at this point. �Okay�. And your point to all of this being?� �I am willing to do whatever it takes to make Brian notice me.� TBC |
