| �You know what Liz? I think that my brother has a crush on you� I say to my best friend as I see my brother Max and his best friend Michael walk in. �Who Max? I don�t think so Maria I mean we haven�t even talked� she looks up from what she is doing. �Max is shy. But think about it Liz. Why is it that Max and that loser Michael always sit in your section? And why is my lovely brother stares at you when he thinks no one is watching?� I turn and look at my brother and catch him staring at Liz and know that I am right. �Maria I think you are wrong I mean you and me have been best friends since 3rd grade and in all that time I have never even talked to Max for more then a minute. I haven�t even talked to Isabel for a second. Anyway even if you are right. I am going out with Kyle. I mean he�s steady and loyal, and he appreciate me.� �It sounds like you are describing a poodle� I say before laughing. Liz just rolls her eyes. �Right for that we are swapping tables. You take Max and I take the two guys over there.� I look at my friend in disbelief �You think that is punishment. You know those guys aren�t going to tip and Max always does� Liz just smile at me �You are right Ria. I am doing this cause this mean you are going to have to talk to Michael and I know how much you two love each other� I glare at my best friend. Michael and me always fight since the day we meet which was also in 3rd grade. He has always been Max and Isabel�s friend. I mean I am really close to Max and Isabel it is just that we hang with different types of people. I have Liz and Alex. Isabel has all her popular friends and Max as Michael. But at the end of the day Max, Isabel and Michael are the only ones who know the true about me. I grab my note pad and walk over to their table. I smile at my brother and then glare at Michael who glares back. �What are you doing here?� I ask them �Aren�t you meant to be nice to us since we are paying customers� Michael says �Maybe when hell freezes over I will be nice to you Michael but in till then you know what you can do� I shot back �Bite me!� he replies �Not if you were the last thing on this planet or any other� I say Michael is just about to come back when Max cuts in �Do you two ever stop?� �He started it� I say with a pout at my brother �I did not you did� Michael says before kicking me softly under the table �Oh my god did you see that Max he just kicked. Are you going to stand for some guy kicking your little sister� I say folding my arms across my chest and glaring at Max. �Maria you are like 3 minutes younger then Isabel and me.� Max says with a sigh �Max I think she is talking about her height� Michael says with a laugh I grab my order pad and start to hit him on the head with it. �Hey watch the hair� he says grabbing my wrists before I can reply I hear shouting from the table behind us where the two men were sitting and as if time had slowed down, I watch one of the man pull out a gun and then the gun is fired. �Liz!� I shout but my warning is too late and Liz falls to the ground. I turn to my brother �Max you got to help� I say before racing over to her. �Maxwell what are you doing?� I hear Michael say and I can�t believe that he is trying to stop him but I do understand why he is trying to. Max pushes past Michael and puts his hands over Liz wound and starts to heal her. I start to breath again when I see Liz open her but before I can say any thing to her Michael and Max are dragging me out of the crashdown and into Max�s jeep. TBC |
