| �Kyle.� Maria broke out into a wide grin. Kyle did so then too. �Maria. Oh my god what..what are you doing here?� �I live here now. We moved. Mom got a job here.� Maria said still grinning from ear to ear. �God I missed you so much Kyle.� Maria flung herself into Kyle�s arms. Kyle hugged her back and sighed. �God Ria..I mi...� Kyle stopped himself after hearing a snigger to his left. Alex. He then looked to his right. Max just looked amused, Kyle didn�t dare chance a look at Michael. Suddenly Kyle changed his whole demeanour. He let go of the girl in his arms and lent back on to the bar. �So your here for good?� Maria nodded confused. �Well maybe we can get together sometime and catch up babe.� �What? Kyle what happened to you? This isn�t you.� Maria stepped back from him. �What do you mean. Of course it�s me.� Kyle chuckled and looked at Max and Alex who followed on his example. �No. Your not the Kyle I met over the summer.� Maria said before she looked away. Max and Alex proceeded to chuckle. Kyle chuckled but deep down he was hurt. But what was he suppose to do? He couldn�t get all pansy in front of his friends. That wasn�t him. Looking at Maria he wished it was though. Throughout the whole exchange no-one seemed to notice the entranced state Michael was in. All he could do was stare after the beauty that took his breath away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �Are you ok?� A quiet but distinctive voice asked behind Maria. �I�ll be o.k Tess. It�s just that he�s so different you know? He wasn�t like that. He was so sweet and caring and nice and now, well now he�s acting like a jerk.� Maria looked over to Kyle and his friends who were all at the bar laughing together. Maria felt pathetic. She had flung herself into his arms for crying out loud. �Honey, some day you�ll come to realise that all men are jerks. Especially Michael and his little clan. Look I know, why don�t we all go back to my place and have a girls night. Let�s forget about boys and just have fun with us girls. Ok?� Tess put her arm around the new girl and led her off to the others. Maria sniffed and nodded. �That would be really nice. Thanks Tess.� ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �Don�t worry Maria that was just Kyle being Kyle don�t take it personally.� Liz tried to make Maria feel better. �God. It�s not like he did anything. Why are you all mopey?" Isabel called from the corner of the room. Maria instantly felt stupid. She'd had enough. She couldn�t stand Isabel and all of her little remarks. �Look Tess I don�t feel so good. Do you mind if I went home?� Maria called through to the bathroom adjoining Tess� room. �Are you sure you don�t want to stay Maria?� Tess came out, her hair wrapped in a towel. �Yeah I�m positive. Thanks though. Bye you guys.� Maria collecting her stuff together. �Bye.� Tess and Liz said simultaneously. Isabel just made a noise whilst filing her nails. TBC |
