| �Oh wow Maria you look really nice.� Tess looked Maria up and down appreciatively. �Thanks Tess, you look nice too.� Maria smiled weakly. She was really nervous. Liz, Tess and Isabel had been whispering all evening and wouldn�t let Maria in on it. Everytime she would walk into a room that they had occupied it would go silent. She just wished she could just go home. Back to Canada. Back to her friends, relatives, her home. Ironically she felt like an alien in Roswell. An outsider. Well hopefully tonight she would get to know more people and fit in. �Tess is right Maria you look good.� Liz said walking into the room, heading straight for the mirror and applying lip gloss. Suddenly Isabel had come out of the bathroom and Maria�s jaw dropped. If she thought Isabel was pretty before, she was gorgeous now. She was every man�s dream. Maria sighed. She could never be like that or wear clothes like that. It just wasn�t her. Sure she was no angel, but she would never go out wearing as little Isabel was. �Ok is everyone ready to go?� Isabel asked. �Maria are you ready? You never know. Tonight you could meet your dream guy.� Isabel winked at her and Tess and Liz giggled. Maria found the trio a tad weird. What was it with this weird on going joke (if you could call it that) about meeting her dream guy tonight? Oh well she was soon sure to find out. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx �Big crowd tonight.� Michael said looking around the club. Kyle just nodded. �Geez way to be the life of the party Kyle.� Michael walked up to the bar and sat on one of the stools. He wasn�t into dancing. He just came for the chicks, plain and simple. Kyle had been moping all week. It was time to get him back to the old Kyle again. �So Kyle got your eye on anyone in particular tonight?� Kyle just shook his head and looked at the people dancing. God Michael couldn�t wait until Max and Alex got here. Kyle was just being plain moody tonight and Michael would end up hitting him if he continued to be boring. �So you haven�t really talked about your vacation yet. How was Canada?� �Good.� Michael continued to push. �So did I miss anything?� Michael since he was a young boy used to travel with Kyle and his family to Canada, every year but this year he couldn�t. Maybe that was it. Maybe Kyle was mad at him for not going this year. He had to go though. His grandma was sick and he was her special little boy. Not that he was going to tell any of his friends that. He made out that he went for the hotties. �Nope.� �Sorry we�re late I�ve been working on the car.� Alex said walking up to Kyle and Michael, Max in tow. �You still got that heap of junk?� Kyle snorted. Michael was surprised. It was the longest sentence he had strung together all night. �Hey man at least I got me some wheels.� Alex said getting defensive. �Now, now boys we�re not here to argue. We�re here to -� xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx �PARTY!� Tess screamed out at the top of her lungs as soon as she entered �Area 51�. Maria looked around at her surroundings. It actually wasn�t that bad. The music was good and there were lots of people. Suddenly her eyes locked with a tall blonde�s. He was cute and had a shy smile. He smiled at her and Maria smiled back. Maybe Roswell wasn�t so bad afterall. �Who�s that?� Maria asked Tess still keeping her eyes locked with the blonde�s. �Doug? Oh he�s the captain of the football team. Number one jock. There like in this whole other group. We tend not to go with them.� Tess pulled Maria to the dance floor and they proceeded to dance. Maria loved dancing. She didn�t feel like an outsider on the dancefloor she just let the music guide her. Suddenly Isabel pulled on her arm. Maria stopped dancing and looked at her with confusion. �There�s someone I want you to meet.� Isabel said and grinned. Maria�s heart began to beat faster. She had no clue as to why but she knew whatever was about to happen it did not look good. Tess started to fix Maria�s hair for her. �Tess, what�s going on?� Before Tess could answer Maria was pushed in front of a gathering of boys. Her eyes made contact with the one person she had never thought she�d see again. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx �Hey Michael.� Isabel whispered seductively. Michael smiled a knowing smile. Oh yeah he was gonna be gettin some tonight. She came into Michael�s personal space and whispered in his ear. �I was wondering after this has ended do you want to go into the desert in my car.� �Sure Isabel.� Michael nodded and smiled. Isabel suddenly looked at the oddly quiet Kyle who was leaning against the bar next to Michael. �Oh Kyle hold on a minute I think I�ve got someone who you might want to meet.� Isabel disappeared for a little while and when she came back had a petite blonde on the end of her arm. The petite blonde looked up and Michael gasped. She was breathtaking. Full lips, big green eyes, perfect skin, the list could go on. Her shining eyes did not look upon him however but rather the moody boy standing next to him. �Kyle?� A grin spread across her features, making her seem even more beautiful. Kyle suddenly looked up and looked as though he was about to go into cardiac arrest. �Maria?� TBC |
