| Elizabeth Parker walks down the streets of Roswell, New Mexico with her best friend Maria DeLuca and reaches the Crashdown cafe which Liz's parents own and finds the sheriff and other police officers standing outside of the cafe. "Sheriff what's going, where are my parents?" Liz asks him worried about her parents. "We should go inside and sit down and talk." He tells her and she nods her head and follows him inside with Maria. Once inside the cafe they all take a seat at the nearest booth. "Liz I got some bad news ... about your parents. You see they've ... they've been murdered." He says to her with sorrow in his voice. "Wh ... wh ...what?" Liz asks not believing what she just heard. "I'm sorry Liz." He says with sympathy. Liz burst into tears and Maria begins to hold on to her, trying to comfort her. Liz couldn't believe what she just heard. 'How can my parents be dead?' she thought to herself. She didn't know what she was going to do. ****************************** A couple of days later her parents' lawyers came by. Liz's parents had left her the Crashdown, but the current manager was to manage it until she was of legal age. Liz's parents also gave custody of Liz to her cousins, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell, who lived in San Francisco. A week later she's at the airport saying good-bye to her friends. "You promise to call everyday?" Maria asks Liz almost near tears. "Yes Maria I promise." Liz says to her sarcastically. "I'm going to miss you so much." Maria tells her, tears falling from her eyes. "Me too." Liz says tearing up also. Maria gives Liz a tight hug and whispers to her, "I'll keep an eye on Max for you, and make sure Tess stays away from him." Liz laughs to herself and whispers back, "Maria, will stop it. Max and I aren't together any more." Maria let's go and walks over to Michael. Alex walks up to Liz and hugs her. "I'm going to miss you a lot" Liz pulls back and smiles. "I going to miss you to." Kyle walks over to Liz and hugs her. "Bye Liz, I'll miss you." He says fighting back tears. "I'll miss you too." Liz says and she kisses him on the cheek. "Bye Liz, you'll come and visit soon?" Isabel asks as she wipes a tear from eye. "I'll try to." Liz gives Isabel a hug and says, "Bye Isabel." They pull away and Liz wipes a tear from her eye. Michael walks over to Liz and says, "I'm not that good at good-byes so..." Liz cuts Michael off be hugging him. "Bye Michael." Liz says smiling. "Bye Liz." Michael says smiling back. Max then walks over to Liz and the others walk away leaving the two alone to talk. "I gonna miss you a lot, you know." Max says to her smiling. "Ditto." Liz says back, fighting back her tears. "All passengers boarding flight five fifty-six to San Francisco please begin boarding the plane now." They heard the stewardess voice say over the P.A. Max hugs Liz and after they pull away she kisses him on the cheek. "Bye Max." Liz says wishing she didn't have to leave. "Bye Liz." Liz walks away from Max and heads towards the gate to board the plane. Max walks over to the rest of the gang and all five stand and watch as Liz boards the plane. They stay until they see the plane take off. ****************************** Liz is sitting on the airplane looking out of her window at the clouds. A flight attendant comes to her and asks her if she wants anything and she tells her she's fine. After she gets off the plane she sees Piper standing by a crowd waiting for her. Liz walks over to her and Piper embraces with a gigantic hug. "Hey, how are you holding up?" Piper asks her little cousin with concern deep in her voice. "I'm doing a lot better, where's everyone else?" Liz asks a little shaky. "They're at home waiting for us. Let's get you home okay." Liz nods her head and follows Piper out into the parking lot. ****************************** When Piper and Liz walk through the front door Phoebe rushes over towards them and hugs Liz. "How are you doing sweetie?" Phoebe asks her baby cousin who she always felt was like her baby sister. "I'm okay." Leo Wyatt and Paige Matthews walk over towards them. "Um Liz, this is Paige our sister, your cousin." "Nice to meet you." Liz says smiling. "Same here." Paige says to her. "Liz, where's your bags?" Leo asks her. Liz looks over to Leo and says, "There still in the car." Piper turns to Leo. "Honey could you go get them for me." Leo nods his head and heads to the car to get Liz's bags. "Sweetie are you hungry, I can get you something to eat?" Piper asks Liz and she shakes her head. "No. I'm just tired," she says simply. "Come on, I'll take you to your room." Phoebe says and leads Liz upstairs to her new room. ****************************** One week later Phoebe pulls up in front of Liz's new school and parks the car. "You could wait, you know. I mean you don't have to go now." Phoebe says to her comfortingly. "I can't stay home and watch daytime TV for the rest of my life." Liz tells her and Phoebe smiles and says. "Why not? I could." Liz cracks a smile and climbs out of the car. "Piper will pick you up after school!" Phoebe yells to Liz. "That's okay I'll walk!" Liz yells back. "Are you sure?" Phoebe asks her giving her a chance to reconsider. "Yeah, I'm sure." Liz yells back. "Okay." ****************************** At lunch Liz sat at a lunch table alone. All she could think about was the person who murdered her parents. The police don't even know who it is. Liz started to get upset and suddenly her empty soda can flies across the quad, but no one notices. 'What was that?' she thought to herself. While Liz is trying to think of how her soda can flew across the quad a guy walks up to her and says, "Hey is anybody sitting here?" Liz looks up and sees a tall blonde standing in front of her with sparkling blue eyes. "No." she says as she shakes her head. "May I?" He asks. "Go ahead." she says and he then sits down at the seat across from her. "You're new?" He asks. Liz nods her head. "So am I, my parents and I just moved here a week ago. My name's Ethan Harris, and yours is..." he stammers on. "Liz. Liz Parker." Ethan smiles and says, "So Liz Parker, what brings you to San Francisco?" Liz looks away and suddenly gets quiet. "Okay I guess you don't want to talk about it." "I'm sorry it's just..." Ethan raises his hands and cuts her off. "It's okay, we've just met you don't have to tell me, it's your business." Liz smiles. "So is this your first time in San Francisco?" Ethan asks, Liz shakes her head. "No I've been here plenty of times before visiting my cousins, I'm staying with them now." "So do you want to hang out after school or something? I mean you can show me around since you know more about this city than I do." Ethan asks. "Sure, I guess we could meet after school." Ethan nods his head "Great it's a date. Well not a date, but a ... get together." The bell ringing signaling the end of lunch interrupts them. "I guess I'll see you after school." Ethan smiles at Liz and says, "Yeah, I guess you will." ****************************** Liz and Ethan walk up the manor steps and reach the front doors. "So I had fun tonight." Ethan says smiling. "So did I." Liz says agreeing with him. Ethan leans in to kiss Liz, but she backs away. "I'm sorry it's just..." Ethan holds up his hand cutting her off. "Let me guess you have a boyfriend back home?" he asks. Liz nods her head, "Something like that. Yeah." "Okay, so friends?" he asks. "Friends." Ethan holds out his hand and Liz shakes it. "Well good night." He says and turns and walks down the steps. "Good night." Liz says silently to herself. Liz walks into the manor and closes the door behind her and Piper walks down the stairs and sees her. "Liz it's ten o'clock I thought you said you were coming straight home after school?" Piper asks her. "I'm sorry, I met some people at school and hung out with them." Liz says apologetically. "Well next time call home first, we worried about you. "Piper tells her. "Okay, I will." Liz starts to walk towards the stairs. "Oh, Maria called, oh and so did Max and Isabel." Piper tells Liz. "Okay, thanks." "Are you hungry there's some dinner left in the kitchen?" Piper asks, Liz nods her head and says, "Okay." Liz and Piper walk into the kitchen and find Paige eating a piece of chocolate cake. "Hey Paige." Liz said as she and Piper enter the kitchen. Paige looks over to Liz smiling and says, "Hey. Liz, so how was your first day of school?" "It was okay. I met some people." Liz tells her. Paige nods her head and says, "Cool." Liz fixes her plate and then walks over to the kitchen table and joins Paige. Piper walks over to the table and sits down next to Liz. "So Liz how are you holding up?" Liz sighs and then looks up at Piper and says, "I'm doing okay." Paige looks over to Piper and then says, "Sweetie what's wrong, I mean every time someone asks you how you're doing you pull away." "We're here for you Liz you can talk to us about anything. We know how you feel." Piper tells her. Liz suddenly jumps up from her seat and starts yelling. "I'm tired of everyone asking me how I'm feeling! You guys wanna know how I'm feeling. I'm angry! Why did they have to die, it's not fair!" As Liz finishes her statement all the kitchen cabinet doors fly open and their entire contents fly to the floor. "Whoa." Paige says startled but what just happens. "Liz did you just do that?" Paige asks her. "Piper I'm so sorry I didn't mean to, it was an accident." Piper gets up and walks over to Liz and hugs her. "It's okay." "Liz how long have you been able to do that?" Paige asks. Liz looks over to Paige and says, "Since my parents died all of this weird stuff started happening to me. I didn't tell anyone because I was scared. I don't know what's happening to me." "Well maybe we can explain." Piper tells her. "What?" Liz asks confused. "Well you see..." Phoebe and Cole entering the kitchen laughing cut off Piper. They stop laughing however, when they see the mess all over the kitchen floor. "Whoa it looks like a tornado hit this place." Cole says upon seeing the mess. "What happened?" Phoebe asks. "Well there's been a little accident." Piper tells her. "Did a de...." Phoebe stops and looks at Liz. "...something happen?" Phoebe asks concerned. "No actually it was Liz. I think her powers were released." Piper says. "My what?" Liz asks confused. "Um okay Liz what we're about to tell may sound unbelievable but trust us it's the truth." Piper tells. "What is it?" Liz asks curious. Piper looks over to Phoebe for help. "Well you know how every family has something rare that they inherit?" Phoebe asks. "Yeah." Liz says nodding her head. "Well in our family we all inherit a special gift, a power, and you've inherited one also." "That's why I've been moving things without even touching them, because of some power I've inherited?" Liz asks. Phoebe nods her head. "But that doesn't make any sense, why is our family so special?" Liz asks. "Well that's because we're all...witches." Phoebe says. "Witches?" Liz asks not believing her. "Yeah." Phoebe says. "You've got to be kidding me, right?" Liz asks thinking they were joking with her. "I think I'll leave you girls alone." With that Cole walks out of the kitchen leaving the girls alone. "You saw what you did earlier. That should prove to you we're not kidding." Piper tells her. "Maybe she needs some proof." Paige suggests. "Okay what did you have in mind?" Piper asks Paige. "I'll cast a spell and when she sees it work she'll know that we're telling the truth." Paige walks over to the mess Liz made and points to it. "You see this." Liz nods. Paige then begins to recite a spell: Let the object of objection Become but a dream As I cause the seen To be unseen The mess on the floor magically disappears and reappears back into the cabinets as if nothing happened. "How'd you do that?" Liz asks shocked and surprised. "Magic." Paige says smiling. "Now do you believe us?" Phoebe asks and Liz nods her head yes. "How long has our family been...witches?" "For generations." Piper tells her. "The first witch in our family Melinda Warren started it all in the sixteenth century. We've inherited our powers from her." Phoebe explained to her. "So everyone in our family can make things move by themselves?" Liz asks. "No. You see Melinda had three powers, telekinesis, which you've inherited, temporal stasis, and premonition." Phoebe tells her. "Each person in our family inherits one of those powers." Piper explained. "Temporal stasis... wait you mean she could stop time?" Liz asks. "Yes she could." Phoebe says. "Come on we got something to show you." Phoebe tells her and all four girls head out of the kitchen. ****************************** "This Book of Shadows is so cool." Liz said looking up from the book. "Yeah isn't." Paige said agreeing with her. "Was my mom a witch too?" Liz asks. "Yeah she was." Phoebe tells her. "What power did she have?" Liz asks curious. "She had the same power as you, telekinesis." Piper tells her. "So Piper you inherited Melinda's power of temporal stasis, which grew and expanded into a new power temporal combustion, which means you can speed up the molecules of an object until they separate in an explosive action." Liz says. "Yeah." "Phoebe you inherited Melinda's power of premonition which means you can have visions of the past or future, and that power grew and expanded and now you have the power of levitation as well." Liz says to her. "Right again." Phoebe says to her. "And Paige you inherited Melinda's power of telekinesis." "Yeah, but because I'm half white-lighter it works differently than yours does. When I call for something like a lamp it will orb to me, telekinetic orbing." Paige explains. "Orb?" Liz asks confused. "Yeah you see orbing is a white-lighter power, it's the ability to teleport from one place to another, which is Paige's second power." Phoebe explains. "Um, question?" Liz asks. "Ask away." Phoebe tells her. "How come you guys have two powers each and all the other witches in the family mentioned in the Book of Shadows, besides Melinda, only had one power?" Liz asks. "Well I guess because we're Charmed our powers are stronger than the our previous family members and therefore our powers have grown and evolved into new ones." Phoebe said explaining to her. Liz nods her head and says, "Oh. So tell more about the Book of Shadows." ****************************** The next day after school Liz and Ethan are sitting in a booth at a local pizza parlor. A waitress walks over to them. "Hi here's your order a medium pepperoni pizza and two cokes." Ethan smiles at the waitress and thanks her and she walks away to take care of another customer. "So Liz, what's wrong?" Ethan asks. "What do you mean?" Liz asks confused. "Well, you sounded strange when I called earlier. I didn't think you'd come." Ethan explains. "No I was just in a bad mood." Liz tells him. "Why want happened?" Ethan asks her concerned. "It's nothing really." Liz tells him. "Come on Liz you can tell me." "Look if you really have to know my parents died okay!" Liz shouts at him. Ethan looks at her apologetically and says, "I'm sorry. I didn't know. I didn't mean to..." Liz cuts him off and says, "It's okay. I'm sorry I snapped at you." Ethan shakes his head and says, "It's okay you have nothing to apologize for." Liz smiles at him. "So how did it happen, if you don't mind me asking?" "They were murdered. The police never caught the murder." Liz tells him and Ethan looks at her sympathetically. "After my parents were murdered I moved out here to San Francisco to live with my cousins." Ethan reaches across the table and holds her hand. "I sorry for your lose." Liz smiles at him shyly and then says, "You know what I'm really tired. Could you take me home?" Ethan nods his head and says, "Sure." ****************************** Ethan pulls up to the manor and parks his car. "So I'll call you tomorrow?" Ethan asks Liz and she nods her head and says, "Okay." Liz gets out of Ethan's car and walks up the steps to the manor and walks into the house. On her way upstairs she runs into Phoebe. "Hey Liz. Where were you, you didn't come straight home?" Phoebe asks her. "I was out with some friends. I called and told Piper." Liz tells her. "Oh okay, do you want something to eat?" "No I already ate, I'm just gonna go do my homework." Liz tells her. "Okay, but if you change your mind there's some food in the fridge." Phoebe tells her. "Okay." Liz tells her. Phoebe heads to the kitchen and Liz walks upstairs to her room. ****************************** After Liz finishes her homework she goes up to the attic to study the Book of Shadows. Liz flips through the book and sees different spells, charms, and rituals. Liz stops on a certain and a power-raising spell catches her eye. Liz scans the page quickly. "It seems simple enough." She says to herself. Liz takes the Book of Shadows to her room and moves around the house quietly collecting the things she needs. She heads back to her room and starts to clear the hardwood floor of her room. After she finishes clearing the floor, she sets up some candles in huge circle and lights them. She then steps inside the circle and sits in the middle of the circle with the Book of Shadows. "Okay, here goes nothing." Liz says to herself and takes a deep breath and begins to recite the spell: Guiding Spirits hear my plea Take my powers blessed be And increase their strength by three A blinding white light hits Liz and then vanishes as quickly as it appeared. "Whoa!" Liz says to herself startled. "Let's see if it worked." Liz remembers that Piper told her that when her powers grow she would be able to channel them through her hands, so Liz decided to try it. Liz focuses on a pillow on her bed and waves her hand at it and it flies across the room. "Cool." ****************************** The next morning Liz walks downstairs the next morning and finds her cousins in the kitchen watching the morning news. "Good morning." Liz says as she enters the kitchen. "Good morning." Piper says smiling. "Um, could one of you guys give me a ride to school I'm already running late as it is." Liz asks looking at each of her cousins. Paige nods her head and says, "I can give you a lift, I'm on my way to work anyway." "Thanks." Liz says. Paige and Liz start to walk out the back door, Liz turns around and makes an apple in the fruit basket on the table float towards her using her hand. Piper looks at Liz shocked and says, "Hey when did you start channeling your powers through your hands." Liz shrugs and says, "Since last night." "You only had your powers for a month now and it took Prue seven months before she could channel her powers through her hands." Piper says arguing. "Well maybe my powers are developing faster then Prue's did." Liz says. Piper nods her head and says, "Yeah maybe, but..." Liz cuts Piper off by saying, "I gotta go don't wanna be even later than I am." Liz then heads out of the backdoor pulling Paige right along with her. "Phoebe was Liz up in the attic last night?" Piper asks her. "No I don't think so, why? You think she cast a spell to increase her powers?" Phoebe asks Piper curious. "I don't know maybe. I'll talk to her about it later." ****************************** Deep in the underworld the Source walks into a cavern and the Oracle appears lying on an altar with her crystal ball. "What is it Oracle?" the Source asks her not in the mood to be bothered. "I have an way for you to get the Charmed Ones powers." The Source turns towards her curious as to what her plan is and asks, "What is it?" "The witches have a new family member staying with them. She's young, new to the craft. It will be easy to capture her," the Oracle says explaining to him. "And why would I want to do that?" the Source asks. "You could offer them an exchange. Their cousin for their powers, and because they care so much for her they will give up their powers willing. And once they do you can kill them all." The Source considers her plan and then says, "It better work, for your sake. Or you'll be spending the rest of eternity as a pile of ashes." ****************************** Later that afternoon Liz and Ethan walk into the manor and find Phoebe and Paige in the parlor watching a TV movie. "Hey Phoebe, Paige." Liz says greeting them. "Hey Liz. Hey Ethan." Phoebe says smiling. "Hey guys." Paige also says smiling. "Hi Phoebe, Paige." Ethan greets them. "So what are you guys up to?" Phoebe asks them curiously. "Nothing really. We're just going to hang out here." As Liz finishes her statement a demon shimmers into the room. "What the...? Ethan says surprised. Phoebe and Paige stand up and the demon throws energy balls at them. They duck from the energy balls headed toward them and they fly into the wall scorching it. The demon throws another energy ball at Paige and she instantly orbs out and the energy ball passes right through where she was just standing and it hits a vase of flowers destroying it. Paige then reappears in the same place she stood before. The demon then shoots more energy balls towards Ethan and Liz. Liz waves her hand at them and sends them flying back towards him and he shimmers out of the way. The demon reappears near Phoebe and she jumps up, levitates, and kicks toward him, but he shimmers out of the way and Phoebe crashes into a shelf. "Phoebe!" Liz shouts and runs towards her. "Chair!" Paige shouts and a chair in the corner of the room orbs and Paige waves her hand towards the demon and it reappears flying towards him and he shimmers out of the way. The demon reappears in front of Liz and punches her in the stomach and before she can react he grabs her from behind and puts his arm around her neck. "Liz!" Paige shouts and Liz orbs from the demon's hold and reappears next to her. Liz stands there confused and asks, "What just happened?" Paige looks at her just as confused and says, "I think I just orbed you." The demon rushes towards Liz and Paige, Ethan holds his right hand towards the demon and shouts "Dissolvo!" and a ball of energy shoots from his hand hits the demon causing him to fly across the parlor. The demon stunned by what just occurred shimmers out of the parlor. Liz who is shocked by what she just saw Ethan did asks, "Ethan, you're a witch?" she then looks at him confused. "Yeah and so are you?" As he finishes his statement the demon shimmers in behind Liz grabs her and then shimmers out of the manor. "Liz!" Phoebe, Paige, and Ethan scream simultaneously. ****************************** Piper, Phoebe, Paige, Leo, Cole, and Ethan are in the attic while Phoebe is flipping through the Book of Shadows. "So Ethan how long have you been a witch?" Piper asks him. "Ever since I was sixteen, so for about two years now." he tells her. "What was that thing you did back there? It was pretty cool." Paige asks. "Oh that was just a small spell that summons a ball of energy. It's not enough to vanquish a demon, but it sure does hurt like hell." He says explaining to them. "Don't you have any powers?'' Paige asks. "Yeah, invisibility. It's not much but it comes in handy a lot, especially when sneaking into the girls locker room" He says smiling. Piper and Paige give him a disgusted looked. "I'm just kidding." He says holding up his hands. "I can't find anything on that demon. What are we going to do? How are we suppose to get her back?" Phoebe asks frustrated. "I'll go see if I can find her again." Leo says then orbs out of the attic. "Maybe I should shimmer down to the underworld and see what I can find out too." Cole suggests. "That won't be necessary Balthazar." The Source says then flames into the attic. Piper thrusts her hands into the air attempting to blow up the Source, but it doesn't work. "Don't even bother wasting your energy this is just a projection." He says. "What do you want?" Piper asks anger evident in her voice. "The question is what do you want?" he says wickedly. "I have you precious cousin in my possession. If you want her back you'll give me your powers." "And if we don't?" Piper asks. "Trust me you don't want to make that mistake." The Source says threateningly then flames out. "You have until midnight to make your decision, or she's dead." The Source's voice echoes throughout the attic. "Wh...who or what was that?" Ethan asks terrified by the being that was just present. "That was the Source of all evil." Phoebe says answering him. "We have to do something fast" Phoebe says. "Like what?" Paige asks sarcastically. "I don't know, something." Phoebe tells her. Leo orbing into the attic interrupts them. "Did you find her?" Piper asks as soon as Leo materializes. " Yeah but I couldn't get to her she was surround by demons." he says informing her. "So now what?" Paige asks. "We go the underworld and get her." Piper tells her simply. "Wait a minute you mean... down there." Paige says pointing to the floor. "Yes it's the only way to save her without giving up our powers." Piper informs her. "You're right, let's go." "Maybe I should go with you." Ethan says. "I don't think so Ethan this is going to be dangerous, we don't want you to get hurt." Phoebe tells him. "Come on I've been fighting demons and warlocks for two years and besides you could use my power to sneak in." Ethan counters. "He's right." Paige says agreeing with Ethan. "Fine he can come." Piper agrees and then says, "Now let's go." "Maybe I should go too." Cole suggests. "No Cole stay here. You know just in case we get into trouble we'll have back up." Phoebe pleads with him. "Phoebe you know I don't feel comfortable when you go off to fight demons without me, especially the Source's trained guards." Cole tells her. "Cole I've been doing this before we were even together and besides my sisters, Leo, and Ethan will be there." Phoebe reminds him. "Alright, just be careful okay." says giving in. "I'm always am." Phoebe says smiling and she kisses Cole. "Come on we better hurry." Leo says interrupting them. Phoebe walks over to Leo and the others and they orb out of the attic. ****************************** Leo, Ethan, Piper, Phoebe, and Paige reappear in the underworld. They look across and see Liz chained to a wall with six demons around her. "Look at all those demons." Paige says getting a little scared. "Ok so what's the plan?" Phoebe asks Piper. "I freeze them and we get Liz out of there." Piper says straight to the point. "That's it?" Paige asks not impressed with Piper's plan. "It'll have to do." Piper simple tells her. They all walk into the lair and the demons turn around and Piper freezes them. They then run over to Liz. "Are you ok?" asks hugging Liz. "Yeah I'm fine I just want to get out of these chains. "Liz says shaking her wrists where the chains were on her. "I can help you with that." Paige says smiling. "Chains." Paige says calling for them. The chains instantly orb off Liz's wrists and reappear into Paige's hands and she drops them to the ground. "Wait a minute this seems to easy." Ethan says sensing something-weird going on. "Me too, let's get out of here." Phoebe says agreeing with Ethan. "Not so fast." They hear the Source's voice say. He then appears before them. Piper uses her powers and blows up the Source, but he easily reconstitutes himself. "Your powers are strong, but not strong enough witch." Just as he finishes his statement he throws a fireball at Piper and she instinctively freezes it. Thinking quickly Phoebe jumps up and levitates and kicks the Source in his chest and he falls to the ground giving them time to escape. "Let's go now." Leo says and everyone grabs a hold of him and they orb out of the lair. ****************************** Later that night Liz is in her room sitting on her bed and she hears a tapping on her door. She yells come in and Piper, Phoebe, and Paige walk in. "Hey, how ya doing?" Piper asks Liz as she sits on the bed next to Liz, followed by Phoebe and Paige. "I'm doing okay considering I was kidnapped by the Source of all evil." Liz answered her jokingly. "Well you are a Halliwell, by blood that is." Phoebe says smiling. "He was really dangerous though. I tried to use my power on him while I was chained up, but he barley even faltered. I'm glad you guys got to me in time." Liz says thanking them. "Well we weren't going to let you die." Phoebe tells her. "Yeah you're stuck with us. " Paige says agreeing with Phoebe. "That's good to know." Liz says smiling. The End |
