Dishcloth Britches
(a.k.a. Kitchen Knickers)

Materials:
2 dish cloths or towels
1 1/2 yards of 1/8" ribbon
Needle with an eye large enough for the ribbon to fit
(A tapestry needle is perfect)

Method:
Put the dish cloths or towels side by side vertically.
Thread the needle with the ribbon  and make a running stitch 2" from top of both dish cloths.  Make your stitches  3/4" apart so the ribbon will gather easily.  The top of the cloths are now joined together by the ribbon.
Pull the ribbon to gather the top and tie a bow in the front ~ this will fold the cloths in half.
Stitch the ribbon to gather the bottom and tie the bow on the inside of each leg ( also folding the 'legs' in half)

Tie two bows through the front of the cloths to fasten them together.... in my photo, I just inserted ribbon through the back twice and threaded the ribbon that came through the front side with a button and just tied the ribbon in place in front of the button.

Add this little poem:

You can hang these little bloomers, upon your kitchen wall.
It's obvious you can't wear them, They'd be a bit too small.
For something that is useful, remove the bows and stitches, and you'll have not one, but two new dishcloths to do your dishes  :)
