Geoff has his operation, comes round from the anaesthetic.
Dr:  Hey, Wake Up.  Come on havent got all day.  Tear was not complete, no reconstruction necessary, no plaster, its just strapped,
so physio exercises and crutches.  Now get yourself together, I need this space.
Geoff:  (with very dry mouth)  You call that a bedside manner?
Dr:  Humf, Save my charm for the sick.
(Kate appears through the screens, smiles at Geoff)
Kate:  And you dont even have to go to Maternity.
Dr:  (to Kate)  Ill send up a couple of orderlies in about half an hour, they can wheel him back to the Motel.  (Dr. and Kate laugh)

Geoff and Kate back at Motel, sat on bed playing cards.
Geoff:  If they had to reconstruct my knee, it would have meant several weeks out of action, I need my work Kate.  (holding Kates hands)  Thanks for putting up with me.
Kate:  Everybody needs support sometimes.
Geoff:  I suppose the most sensible thing for us to do is to return to a more professional relationship?
Kate:  I suppose.
Geoff:  (moving closer to Kate)  But then again, we dont have to rush it. (touching her hair)  I mean we can take it gently.
Kate:  Sounds alright to me.  (they move closer, about to kiss, phone rings)
Geoff:  (smiling)  You sure know how to make bells ring.  (Kate leans forward to pick up phone, Geoff puts his hand up, touches end of Kates nose with finger)
Geoff:  A. A.  (Geoff picks up phone)  Standish.  Hello Jack, legs fine, hardly a twinge.  How are things with you?  Oh Really!  No she didnt tell me.
(looks across at Kate)
No, No, I think Id better talk to Chris.
(Kate collects up the cards, takes cups into kitchen)  You know, Dr. to Dr.  Yeah, well if you see her before I call, thank her for me will you?  Yeah, Bye.  Spleenectamy!
On her own, assisted by nurses with limited theatre skills, my patient, and you chose not to inform me?
Kate:  You were in no fit state to
Geoff:  .Do you realise the risk, do you realise the pressure that Chris was under?
Kate:  What the hell could you have done?
Geoff:  I could have sanctioned it?
Kate:  Oh, big of you.
Geoff:  Well if anything had gone wrong, if thered have been the pair of you, it would have helped.
Kate:  Well, Im sorry.
Geoff:  Well being sorry is not good enough, were talking about my patient here.
Kate:  Well you were my patient the other day, and I had to make a decision.
Geoff:  You realise were fighting again?
Kate:  Whats new?
Geoff:  Why do we keep running away from it Kate?
Kate:  You can talk, youre the one whos always ducking for cover.
Geoff:  And youre not?
Kate:  Look lets just drop it.
Geoff:  No we cant just drop it.
Kate:  I can.
Geoff:   (with a loving look on his face)  Hey, come ere.  (beckons Kate over)
I dont suppose theres any chance of one for the road!   (puckers his lips for a kiss)
Kate:  (a smile on her face, slaps his arm)  Get lost!
Geoff:  OW!  (Kate walks towards her room door, glances back at Geoff)  I take it were back to normal?  (smile at each other, Kate closes her door.
Geoff looks lovingly towards her closed door)
