| 70. THE FORBIDDEN Kate has fallen asleep at the hospital while watching mr. Wilson. Geoff comes in and she wakes up. Kate: Oh, oh, what is it? Is he worse? Geoff: Well, he isn't any better. Kate: Geoff, you do not get pneumonia from a broken leg! Geoff: I know, I know. It's a symptom, not a cause. Kate: So what is causing it? Geoff: Well, that's what the lab resaults will tell me. DJ got them on the nightflight, pathology in Broken Hill should have them by about now. Later during the day Kate: And if the lab doesn't find an answer? Geoff: They will. Kate: Geoff, you said yourself you'd never seen anything like it... Geoff: Cut it out! Kate: Well, you're the one who's suppose to have an open mind! Geoff: Yes, I also know the mind can play some strange tricks, especially if you're under stress or overtired. Kate: Geoff, I was born here, I've lived all my life here. And the one thing I've learned is you never underestimate the couries. Geoff: Why don't you go home? The night sister's on duty, I'm gonna call the lab in a couple of hours... Kate: I'll stay. Kate talks to Geoff at a barbie outside the pub. Kate: By the way doctor, how come you didn't at all get that mysterious disease of yours? Geoff: Ah, my dear Kate...I don't know. Maybe we weren't in the cave long enough. Oh, by the way, mrs. Wilson, she was right to believe. So were you. Kate: Even the bone-pointing? Geoff: Oh, now Kate, I'm chocked!
