Obituary for Joseph Canarsky Bancroft Blade December 28 issue, page 8-year 1910
Joseph Canarsky was born in the old Country December 26, 1824, immegrating to Canada in 1858. In 1858. In 1859 he moved to Missouri and in the same year to Collinsville, Ill., going to Watertown, Wisconsin in 1860 and from there to Sacremento, California. In 1871 he moved to Cumming county, Neb., where he resided until the time of his death, December 13, 1910, t the age of 85 years, 11 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Catharina Menke November 14, 1848, and to this union was born ten children, six dying in infancy. Those living are Fred W. Canarsky, Mrs. Christina Pahlow, Mrs. Caroline Sawatzky and Carl Canarsky. The funeral was held in the Presbyterien Church, by Rev. C.M. Junkin of Craig conducting the service and interment made in the Bancroft Cemetery. |

Obituary for Katherina Canarsky taken from the Bancroft Blade
Mrs. Joseph Canarsky was born in Germany April 15, 1826, and died at her home in Bancroft August 29, 1909, aged 85 years, 4 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph Canarsky in 1848 and immegrated to Canad in 1854 and moved from there to Missouri in 1856, and then, in 1857, to Illlinois, moving the same year to Wisconsin, where they lived 14 years. They went to California in 1871, returning to Nebraska the next year and made this her home until her death. She leaves an aged husband and four children-two sons, Fred W. and Carl Canarsky, and two daughters, Mrs. Christina Pahlow of Alliance, Nebraska, and Mrs Caroline Sawatzky of Hinckley, Minnesota to mourn her loss. Four children preceded her to the better world. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church Tuesday and were conducted by Rev. C. M. Junkin and interment made in the Bancroft Cemetery. A large number of old friends and neighbors were present to pay their last respects to the deceased. |

Obituary for Susan A. Hangley
Mrs. Susan A. Hangley, daughter of Jacob and Catherine Ginder, died Saturday at the home of her daughter and Son-in-law Mr and Mrs. Lawrence Rooney, north of Cameron, Missouri. Death was due to old age. She was born October 30, 1857 at Winimac, Indiana., and died March 4, 1950 at the age of 93 years., four months and ten days. She was from a family of twelve children. A member of the Methodist Church of Civil Bend. Her survivors are three sons and three daughters. Sol E. Hangley of Kansas.; Jay H. of Cameron, Mo; Sydney G. of Jameson, Missouri; Mrs. Lewis Cline (Lou) of Merwin, Mo; Mrs. Pearl Huffman of Altomat, Mo; Mrs. Lawrence Rooney (Kizzie) of Cameron. One sister Ella Kersey of Lafayette, Indiana. Eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grand children and several nephews and nieces. She also raised two grand children Mrs. Lois Narron and Lawrence Buck, Her Husband Peter Hangley preceded her in death, September 11, 1943., and one daughter Katie four years. She was married to Peter Hangley November 13, 1879 at Winimac, Indiana. They came to Missouri in March of 1907 and spent the rest of her life around Gallatin and Cameron. Since the death of her husband she has made her life with her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rooney, and was tenderly cared for by her children. She was loved by all her neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock at the Methodist Church at Civil Bend, Missouri. Conducted by the Rev. Charlie Caldwell, Pastor the Methodist Church of Gallatin. |
