| In 1856, a philosopher appeared named Sigmund Freud. Later in his life he studied medicine at the University of Vienna and for a greater part of his life Freud lived in Vienna. Early on in his life he specialized in neurology. Later, Freud came up with his own psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis is a description of the human mind in general as well as a therapy for nervous and mental disorders. Freud claimed that there is a constant tension between man and his surroundings. Freud told us that our actions are not always guided by reason. Freud also said that conscience is a component of the superego, and that he thought that the conscience was the place where guilt started and would remain in the conscience until you make the person feel better. Freud also believed that a human�s life is surrounded by guilt and desire. In 1909, Freud came to America to give a speech on his philosophy. According to Freud want we want or fear is in our dreams and he determined that all dreams are the fulfillments of wishes. In the 1920�s, Freud�s psychoanalysis was considered to be extremely important. |
