11.08.02 baby, it's cold outside
boy, is it cold in the suburbs. you'd think it would be colder in manhattan with the wind factor and all.
jane and i went shoe shopping during lunch because she needed shoes. but i ended up buying the shoes.
i watched the rules of attraction yesterday. it was okay. it's worth watching for a matinee price show. i never realized that the dawson guy was so horsey looking. punch drunk love on the other hand is v.good. go watch that.
11.11.02
it is almost that time
harry potter and the chamber of secrets will be out this friday and i'll be a monkey's uncle if i can't get tickets! i'm supposed to go to some concierge event with emi on friday but i don't know if that can really happen.
11.13.02
puppies. i want puppy. it would cost a paycheck. my parents will be extremely angry. but i think that the time for a puppy is now.
11.27.02stuffing
so i'm just jonesing around at work right now because practically the entire company has gone home for the holidays and we are forced to stay and rot.
today my kwajang-nim goes, "so does your family make turkey and eat it?" (speaking to me in korean)
"yes."
"do you put stuff inside the turkey?"
"yes."
"what goes in there anyway? do you just stuff it with whatever you want?"
"well, no. you stuff it with... stuffing."
"i'm going to have to uh-duh-muguh turkey somewhere or eat a chicken or something."
then he walked away.
1)you may not stuff the turkey with whatever you want, i.e. krispy kreme, gochujang, bean sprouts etc.
the asst.manager also asked me earlier today if i get to eat turkey tomorrow. when i said yes, he said, "lucky". and he said it so wistfully that i felt kind of bad about his turkey-less situation.
2)how come fobby koreans feel like they have to eat turkey on thanksgiving anyway? it's not a historically significant tradition for them. korean forefathers never had a potluck dinner with native americans. why, most koreans don't even like turkey. they like bap.
yay! i get a four day weekend! i'm going to sleep and sleep. i'm going to watch 6 hours of the bbc pride and prejudice and play my accordion. jen should get me a small monkey for my next birthday.
