Package Name: JET Dictionary Version JE 2.0 for Windows 95/98/ME Configuration: Windows 95/98/ME (Japanese/English language versions) Description: JET Dictionary stands for "Japanese-English-Turkish" multi-language dictionary. Version JE is Japanese-English subset of the full program. It is a Windows application which permits instant access to a bilingual Japanese-English (EDICT) dictionary database. JETDICT has many features, among them: 1. You can look up words in Kanji, Kana or even in Romaji depending on the language version of Windows you are using. For example: you can enter your words and display the search results in Kanji, Kana and Romaji in Japanese language version of Windows or in English language version of Windows with a Japanese language viewer such as NJStar Communicator (http://www.njstar.com) installed. If you have an English language version of Windows without a Japanese language viewer, you can simply input your word in Romaji and also display the search results in ASCII characters (namely Romaji). 2. You can utilize search options to limit the search via a easy-to-use clickable list box. 3. You can select between English or Japanese User interfaces depending on your native language and the language version of your windows. 4. You can open the history window to view a list of the words you have looked up. For each search direction, up to 30 words is stored in the history list. To go back to the search results of a word previously looked up, just double-click on the word on the history list and easily retrieve its meaning. 5. You can select and double-click on the definition of any search item to zoom it in a zoom panel having a variable size font zooming capability. This property is especially useful when viewing Kanji letters. 6. You can copy the text area to the clipboard for inclusion in your word-processing or in any other program. 7. You can use wildcards in any search pattern. The wildcard can be substituted for any missing character or characters. The wildcards recognized by JETDICT are the question mark(?), representing one character, and the asterisk (*) representing multiple characters. The number and position of the wildcards in the sequence of letters is unlimited. The resulting searches can be extended to include any number of wildcard/letter combinations.
