At equilibrium the net heat effect is zero because there is no net reaction. What happen if the following equilibrium system:

is held at constant value? Since endothermic processes absorb heat from the surrounding, heating favours the dissociation of N2O4 into NO2 molecules. Consequently, the equilibrium constant given by:

increase with temperature.
