| "LOOKING FOR JESUS OF NAZARETH THE MESSIAH OF GOD" As Jesus prayed in the garden, a group of soldier, the high priests, and one of His friends (Judas Iscarot) were coming to take Him to a kangaroo court and a mock trial to convict Him for blasphemy and heresy. The religious rulers of His day were afraid of this Jewish rabbi that said, 'Only through me can you come to God'. They were afraid of His miracles and His Power. Afraid that He would usurp their authority and take away their place in the synagogue and their authority over the people of Jerusalem, they finally found a way to put Him to death. But was it them that truly put Him to death, or were they just carrying out the orders or commands of someone much greater than they. No--it was not Herod the King, or Pilate, the high priest, or the people that was ordering the death of this Jewish Rabbi, called Yeshua Ben Joseph, Yeshua Ben David, Yeshua The Messiah, Yeshua son of God, Jesus the Christ. It was the God of all creation, the God of Heaven and Earth, that ordained and predestinated the death of Jesus and His name is "I AM". But who is "I AM"?
From before the foundations of the world was laid; the God of heaven and earth knew that there had to be a perfect sacrifice in order to obtain the forgiveness for the sin of the mankind. There had to be someone to take the punishment for the sin committed by every human being that was ever born and ever will be born. There is only one sin! The sin of transgressing the Laws of God; for sin is the transgression of the law (1John 3:4). The children of Israel did not keep God's laws and commandments He gave them at Mount Sinai; and they fail to worship God the way He prescribed also. Sometimes we, as God's people, don't even try to keep the laws and commandments of God. We allowed Jesus to do away with His own laws, commandments, and His Feast Days. We throw them out and keep all the traditions of man that were made by ungodly men who teach contrary to God's ways. It is easier to just say "Jesus done away with them" than to try and understand, teach and live them; especially the command to keep the Sabbath. (If we break one then we are guilty of all). It is easier because it gives us liberty without responsibility. It is easier to "teach that we don't have to keep any of them"! There are some that we don't have to keep, but they are not of the 10 commandments, or the Feasts Days. What we don't keep is the legalistic form of the law (the oral laws given by the rabbis); and we don't keep the sacrifical laws, or the laws of circumcision. Also, the curse of the law, which is death, has been done away with once and for all. Those things Jesus took to the cross with Him. We should know that the letter of the law (the legalistic form of the law) kills; but the spirit of the law, that comes through our Jewish Messiah, is life.
God knew that mankind, no matter how intelligent they are, or how resourcefull they are, could NOT keep the laws and commandments of God through the efforts of themselves, (although some keep trying). So God predetermine, preordained, and predestinated the death of the son of man--Yeshua; that through His death and resurrection we could keep all the moral and ethical laws and commandments that God laid down at Mount Sinai. Some teach that Jesus kept them so that we don't have to. This is a false teaching! Jesus kept them to show us that it is possible, through Him, to keep them, but only the regenerated, born again, heart can do this. To try and keep the commandments and the laws of God through man's efforts is futile. AND, Keeping the commandments is not what forgives your sins--faith in The blood of Christ does that. The laws and commandments are the "Good Works" we are rewarded for; because as the New Testament scriptures tells us---"Faith without works is dead." So--I searched to find out--Who is this Jesus? Was He just a man, or was He God? Was Jesus this perfect sacrifice that would take away the sin of humankind? Was the sacrifice just a body? Or was it much, much more! Can He, through faith in what He did, cause us to keep all the laws and the commandments of God?
Most bible teachers, in the Protestant movement, teach that Jesus did away with all the Old Testament ways of living for God, and they say those ways are just for the Jews. They say that we just live in the "spirit of the law" since Jesus came. I say that this is not true! Oh yes, I believe we live in the "Spirit" but the bible says "Thy WORD is Spirit." So, which spirit are we living in? God's ways is for all mankind, both Jew and Gentile. It is ironic to me that all Christianity says that all the blessings of the Old Testament are ours (Deutronomy 28) and yet we don't have to live according to the ways the Lord said we had to live in order to receive these blessings. For example---Deuteronomy 28:1,2 says: "Now, if you obey the Lord your God, to OBSERVE (DO) faithfully all His commandments which I enjoin upon you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings shall come upon you and take effect, if you will but heed the Word of The Lord Your God." Then Moses goes on to tell them all the blessing they will receive. However, Christianity has done away with these laws and commandments God gave to Moses to give to the people; so--how can we expect to receive these blessings? For the complete picture read the entire book of Deutronomy and learn God's ways because He is Yeshua/Jesus in the flesh! If Jesus came to live the law, and die, so that through faith in Him we can live the laws of God, why does the church world teach that Jesus did away with them. If Jesus was God in the flesh--did God do away with His own laws and commandments? I think not!! So, I ask the question--Who is "I AM"? Is He God? Is He man? Or Both?
When Moses (Exodus 3) saw the burning bush, and as he drew near the bush and a voice spoke to him out of the bush and said, "I AM the God of your father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." Moses hid his face and was afraid to look upon the one that spoke to him. I AM called Moses to go to Egypt and deliever His people from their bondage; but Moses ask the voice, 'Look, when I come to the children of Israel, and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you'; and they will say to me, 'What is His name?' what am I suppose to tell them? The Lord said to Moses, 'I AM THAT I AM': You will say to the children of Israel, 'I AM' has sent me." Isn't this the same thing that Jesus said every time He spoke of "I AM the bread of Life", "I AM the light of the world", "I AM the true vine", "I AM the good shepherd", "I AM The True vine", "I AM The Way", "I AM The Truth", "I AM The Life", "I AM Alpha, and I AM Omega". "I AM The First and Last", "I AM The Beginning and the Ending", "I AM Alive For EverMore", "I AM Which Is and Which Was, and Which Is To Come." Is not this what Jesus said to those that came to get him in the Garden, and Jesus asked them, "Whom do you seek?" They said "Yeshua of Nazareth." Jesus said, "I AM." When they did not understand him He asked them again, "Whom do you seek?" When they said, "Yeshua of Nazareth", He said to them again, "I have told you that I AM." (John 18:4-8) The most striking point of who the real Jesus is was given to the high priest when Jesus was taken to them from the garden, and many accusers came and brought false accusations against him, yet he said nothing at all. Then the high priest ask him that all important question, "Are your the Messiah, the Son of God?" And Jesus answered him and said, "I AM" and you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of The Power (HaG'vurah) and coming in the clouds of heaven."(Mark 14: 61,62) Why would Jesus use the name given to Moses by the Almighty God almost everytime he spoke? Who is this Jesus? Is he God Himself? Is he God's Son? Does Christianity really know who the real Yeshua/Jesus is? In the emptiness of my life I searched for the true nature of Jesus; for the Jesus I had been taught about all my life was different from who the bible calls God. Jesus took the place of God--to the church--for they told me that he did away with all the things that God said was his commandments and his laws; and supposedly gave us just two. I found out later that those two are just the swing that the 10 hand on. The truth is--we can't even keep just those two. They said the Old Testament laws and commandments were given "just to the Hebrew or Jewish people"; and it was just pictures and shadows of better things to come. I know they meant the better thing was Jesus coming to bring salvation; but somehow they seem to have separated Jesus from God. When they read or taught anything from the old testament; they seem to go out of their way to make sure everyone sees that God was only giving these thing to the Jewish people; and that they didn't belong to us because Jesus did away with all that law stuff.
Somehow that did not set right in my spirit, or in my mind, because I knew we were lost from God, and His laws and commandments were there as instructions on how to live holy before a Holy God! So I asked---"Didn't Jesus come to reconcile us back to God? or Did Jesus come to reconcile us to himself?" "What did He teach while He was here?" "Did He teach a different doctrine than the Father had?" "Is His laws and commandments different from God's?" If they are then He must not be God! So--Who is He? My search for the real Jesus started in 1997; but there were many years before that-that I thought I already knew him; but I didn't. I would like to tell you my story of how my search for the real Jesus turned out.
