| It's strange that you're not who you used to be It hurts to feel your touch again I shudder in my discomfort As your love violates something inside of me. I do not cry for your misfortune I do not cry for mine All I know, is life has stolen Everything I hold dear And even the love I thought would never end Has somehow flatered And left me to journey on; Empty and alone. It's strange that I'm not who I used to be Holding the world to higher standards than myself A controlled rebellion That missed the exit sign One too many times to count. Dazed and mangled in a room full of smoke Lights flicker and go out There you aren't, again. It's strange that we're not who we used to be A strong-willed man and a lonely dreamer Now a broken down soul and a desolate heartache Trying to keep going without a goal Except to make it to tomorrow It's hard when you can't see the horizon But it's harder to long for that horizon When you know that it will never, ever be That way you remembered |
