Lady of the Rain
Back to poems
She walks with quiet steps
Across the valley
Gentle as the rain
But so very alone

When the wintry wind
Bestows its frost upon her skin
She shudders not
For she is already frozen

And when the sultry night
Beckons to her heart
She calls out to the silence
But the mighty storm has stolen her voice
And she cannot speak

Lady of the rain
You move with such grace
Your beauty transcends that of
Man and gods
But you are alone

Child, your tears nourish the earth
But Gaia longs for her daughter
To return to her once more
