Guardian of the Black Cove
Guardian of the Black Cove
I'm afraid to touch you.

Like pages filled with empty words
I sit, stagnant
Hoping for a glimpse into the future,
Where waves and bluffs
Create beautiful music together
And I can see the sun again.

Guardian of the Black Cove
I hurt so much inside.

Like houses resting side by side
Vacant and cold,
But more out of reach
Than you will ever know.
Where arms stretch out to some unknown
Because it's the only thing that feels like home.

Guardian of the Black Cove
I feel so alone.

I'm naked in a world full of ovvercoats and hats,
Like burning feet that can't escape the sidewalk,
But want so desperately to swim
To the bottom of the sea.

I yearn to hold infinity.
