Explain to Me
Back to poems
Explain to me these lifetimes
How they wrap around each other
Yet manage to remain
Completly detached

So when all else fails
Look at me with your sad eyes
And I will forgive you
Even when you don't deserve my forgiving

And you will say to me
Hey darlin'
Come and talk with me
And tell me how you feel

(How I feel could never be explained in words)

But you manage to get out of me, an
I'm fine today...
And how about you?
Would you like some dinner?
Darlin'
I could make it for you

Tears are the seasoning of choice
Can you taste me in your soup?
No, I don't suppose you could
You never did before
But that's beside the point

The point is
I want to escape this lifetime
Walk out on the dock by the lake
Where I can dangle my feet in the water
Just long enough to get used to it
Before I jump in and drown
In all that you have
Forgotten to say
