Frequently Asked Questions

Are you Catholic or Pagan?
Neither, I'm Collyridian.

How do I become a Collyridian?
The same way one becomes Pagan or Catholic or Muslim or Buddhist: studying and practicing.

How long did it take you to come to the realization that this was your intended path?
About twenty years. I had the basic concept of Collyridianism since I was a small child. I was twenty-five when I discovered the ancient Collyridian sect of Arabia, and based on what I read about it, I knew that what I felt and believed was real, that I wasn't such an outsider in my spiritual feelings.

How do you pronounce Collyridian?
It's pronounced the same way it's spelled:

colly - as in "melancholy"
rid - as in "get rid of that"
i - pronounced as E
an - as in "that's an apple"

What sort of "problems" do you run into when it comes to Collyridianism?
The two biggest problems are finding others who believe the same things as me, and finding historical information on Collyridianism.

What sort of responses do you get from people when they learn of your Craft?
All of the Pagans that I have talked to are supportive of my path; they view it as a beautiful way to honour the Mother Goddess. Christians and Catholics, however, are not as opened minded, though I have met a few who think it's a beautiful path.
