~Her Song~

Floating through the forest
Swimming across the land
Looking to the heavens
For a truth that can't be found

Seeing what exists
Believing what one can't see
Knowing about Her future
Explanations flying free

A sea of stars the sky
With limitless abounds
All living question why
And still the answer won't be found

Ask and She will answer
If ye are truly blessed
And if you believe
Your mind and soul at rest

Sun and Moon together
Stars flying through the trees
Water and rivers of fire
Earth and air receive

Why do we keep searching?
For abstinence from grief
Will we be happy
When everything's at peace?

Life always continues
Past wars, and plague, and death
She keeps on living
Without food or rest

Through all She wonders on
Her lips dressed with a smile
Cares seem like drops of water
Tears ignored with a sigh

We must learn to live
With graditute for She
Because one day She'll depart
And with Her so will He

Existing in our world
Regardless of our whims
Kisses into heaven
And words sprung from Sins

Double Standards born
Do but do not speak
Watching others perform
Not following what they teach

Bullets powered by reason
Reason having no sense
Causing a chain reaction
Of hate from ignorance

Eyes deep with fear
Growing on a vine
Understanding wished
Receiving in due time

The Night is His lover
The Day is Her defense
Both form a cycle
Of endless restlessness

Meaning becomes confused
Living for the past
Anticipation precedes
What was meant to last

Trapped in a picture box
Enthralled in other lives
Sitting in a class room
Not bothering to try

Out the door she walks
Destination is unknown
Carrying no luggage
Leaving behind a home

Night and Day turnover
Dusk turns into Dawn
Watching clouds sky dance
As she speaks them a song

Crying on a stranger
Wanting a lover to be
Hoping he is here
For Her to love and see

Marriage for convenience
White dress turned to black
Broken, shattered dreams
Life She can't get back

Children made to work
Overcome by need
Pushed to the limit
No permit to plead

Weightlessness and worry
Carelessness caress
Unrequented romancing
Love laid to rest

Remember we are but beings
On this misguided ride
She is watching o'er us
And always at our s
