The Clans of Tamer

For hundred of years several clans battled each other for land and power. The people of Tamer were a great warrior people and even at times hired out by other nations as mercenaries. It was through this that the clans gained wealth and recognition. The clans worshipped deities of nature, the chief of them Iridia of the Moon, establishing the religion of Wyka. The largest of the clans were; the Talen the greatest and most advanced, the Talsan the farmers, Haraf of the seas, Ralei of the mountains and the Arh the most barbaric. Through the history of the clans several major leaders attempted to conquer the others but never succeeded for long.

The Talen Kingdom

The chieftain of the Talen known as Ronewine, began a conquest in an effort to unite the various clans of the Tamer. This conquest and consolidation of the clans continued until the time of King Falcred. During his reign the Tamer kingdom reached it's greatest size. The kingdom was very rudimentary and was mainly the King being paid tribute by the various clan leaders. Though not fully united under a king, the clans of the Tamer did come together and share knowledge so that the Talen Kingdom did spread it's influence and emerge into the world.

During the reign of King Dain, missionaries of Enkael landed on the shores of Tamer. Within a few years the southern regions of Tamer had converted to Encris and rebelled against their Wykan King. Dain, a devout priest of Wyka, gathered an army and began the First Holy War. For years the war raged on as Dain tried to push the missionaries and their religion into the sea. Finally at the great battle near Sanc, Dain fell to the champion of the One, Ennaen*. Ennaen Kael as he was called later took the throne and began the long road of Lindonarlin's** history.

The Kingdom of Lindon

The Rulers of Lindon were just and wise, focused on building the nation up to a prosperous and educated one. During their reigns the majority of the people were told the word of Enkael. The borders of the kingdom were expanded through war and diplomatic marriages. The armies of Lindon always fought for the One and to bring his word to the faithless.

During the time of Elrodain I, word arrived that the homeland of the missionaries had been invaded.

Elrodain I immediately marshaled a great army and marched forth to their aid, beginning the Second Holy War. As the years passed and the King nor his host ever returned, his son Elyssan I marshaled another force and built a great navy. His army marched up the coastlines and his navy followed by sea as they went to the aid of the missionaries and Elrodain I.

Elyssan returned victorious and with many great riches. As his host passed up the coastlines, Elyssan spread the word of the One. On his return trip he found the converted peoples and established colonies along the coast in many different lands. This opened up many trade routes and made Lindon a prosperous nation.

Lindonarlin

With the campaign of Elyssan I the kingdom grew into a prosperous world power. The rulers after him expanded the power of the kingdom and established many more colonies. Though power and trade were expanded, the goal of spreading the Word was always forefront. Many advancements were made in technology and science. The kingdom came to be known as Lindonarlin which meant Royal Rose Land.

The Republic

During the reign of Aneseron, the alliances of the Republic was formed. The Republic was mainly a trade and military alliance. Each nation vowed to help expand the other's trades and answer the call to help defend the other***. Each nation presented representatives to the Grand Council to vote on policies that would affect all members. During the reigns of Victoria and Telrain the kingdom saw great advancements in knowledge and peace.

But during the time of Artaq war broke out across the borders of the Republic and he and his son Telce spent many years fighting for the alliance. Notable battles include the Battle of Heron's Pass in the Brask Mts. in which Artaq's tired and reduced legions held the pass against an immense force and protected the lower provinces of the Realm. Telce led a historic charge on the Fallon Fields in which he completely decimated an enemy ending a week long battle and saved the people of Terris Thon. Lindonarlin was constantly called to defend the other members and valuable resources and manpower were drained. The kingdom withdrew as the alliance collapsed during the reign of Elrodain III. Severely weakened by the wars and loss of trade****, Lindonarlin backed out of world affairs.

The New Age

Elrodain III spent the last of his reign and Garyn all of his rebuilding the nation. Garyn set aside funds, stimulated the economy and passed laws that would be helpful for the future. When Elyssan II ascended the throne, he began the modernizing of the nation so once more Lindonarlin could re-emerge as a world power.

* Ennaen was actually a nephew of Dain and born in Tamer. His mother was a sister to Dain and his father a missionary. When he died Ennaen was buried near Sanc where he had won his great victory for the One. The holy city of Sancrist now stands there.

** The missionaries first named the lands of Tamer Lindon, rose land. For the yellow roses that grew in the fields and valleys. Ennaen's personal standard was a yellow rose on white field.

*** Some argue that the Republic did more harm than good to Lindonarlin. While relations were strongly made between the nations and Lindonarlin's military prowess was made known, the trade that came through the kingdom solely before was granted to other nations. And as seen later in the Republic, the kingom was called upon more and more militarily, draining manpower and resources.

**** When Lindonarlin backed out of the alliance most of it's colonies became free nations.
