etiquette
Curling is as much a game of etiquette as it is a game of skill. Curling is not like hockey or basketball where you get a lot of trash talking or trying to get into your opponents mind. It is more a gentlemans game, where any rudeness is not tolerated. Here are a few guide lines to think about when playing.
  1. Don't be late. If for an unavoidable reason you will be late, let your skip know as soon as possible.
  2. If you cannot be there it is your responsibility to arrange a spare and let your skip know.
  3. To keep ice surface clean always make sure footwear is clean.
  4. No smoking or alcohol on the ice.
  5. Bring up opponents rock to be delivered after you, unless instructed otherwise.
  6. Always be ready to throw when it is your turn.
  7. Do not walk or run across the ice when a player is in the hack.
  8. Be ready to sweep your teammate's stone.
  9. Be quick to compliment good shots on either side.
  10. Shake hands at the beginning and finish of each game.
