The Wright Enterprises was founded in February 1994 at which time we were importing the Cross Stitch Designer Program "PixelStitch". We started the business by attending Craft Fairs and Craft Market Days with our Cross Stitch Designer Program as well as about a dozen small cross stitch kits along with some larger kits that we had made up from the program. We also had some decoupage papers, containers and other accessories. The Business Was Underway!!!
Soon other Craft Fairs and Markets were added to our list and by talking to some of the other Crafters who had stalls they soon told us where others were. We were soon following the Craft Fair Trail and getting to know many new people. It was a very exciting time in our lives and we were very happy preparing items for sale as well as purchasing new items to sell because clients were now asking us if we could get them this or that. Consequently, the business was like "Topsy" and started to grow fairly quickly.
Next came the purchase of a Mail Order Business complete with stock, catalogue and mailing list. Of course we were very naive about such matters and soon realised we should have had some legal assistance but despite a long court battle we overcame the odds and got it underway. Soon we had our own catalogue and advertised in the rural newspapers and so our journey continued. This journey had to stop for a while because Linda was looking after an old lady who was like a member of the family and she had taken a turn for the worse and now needed constant care and attention. So after six years we decided to sell the business but the person who purchased it in the end only wanted the Mail Order side of it and so we still had all the stock which we have had stored away for a number of years. This was also to prove to be another downfall for us and after another court battle we finally won and were able to put our minds at rest that we had done the right thing.
The old lady passed away to better pastures and we continued to look after her husband who had really lost all his will to live but lasted another two years before he was going to move on to join his beloved. And so another journey ended and now a new one is beginning once more. We are venturing into the world of craft in a bigger way than we thought was possible without a shop. You will now find that not only do the sales include the normal Needlework kits like Cross Stitch, Tapestries, Long Stitch, etc but there is a new craft joining the sales table.
PixelHobby IS NEW ! ! and is great fun to do. It can be addictive but it is easy to manage and there are some great pictures to be had. We are adding new kits shortly with a New Zealand flavour and so our own page for PixelHobby will be added very shortly. You are bound to like them and they would make great presents for people for Christmas or Birthdays.
