| My love affair with German Shepherds began with my parents purchase of Tillie's Trixie in the late 1960's. I was just a teenager and begged my parents to let me train "Trixie". With her "in my keeping" so to speak, I was hooked. I trained Trixie to her CD and began on her CDX training. At that time I realized that though Trixie was a wonderful dog, I wanted more. |
| I started saving up my nickels and dimes and after a few years had saved up enough money to allow me the purchase of a male from top producing bloodlines, from Mary Southcott of Cara Mia fame. I flew down to Mary Southcott's Kennel in 1966 to purchase Cara Mia's Don Tyras CD----"Donty"-- Donty was 8 weeks of age when I brought him home. Donty was born on November 26, 1966. He was a handsome dark sable male of excellent structure and character. His sire "Raps" was a German import of exceptional structure. He would win in today's show ring. I worked with Donty in Obedience and obtained his CD title. Throughout my working with Donty, Mary Southcott always gave me much support and praise. Donty figured in my breeding program and produced my foundation female. |

| Raps was imported to the United states by Julius Due where he completed his American Championship and was standing at Stud in the 1950's and 1960's. Donty was one of his last progeny as Raps passed away when Donty was just 3 months old. Raps personifies all that was great from Germany. He embodied excellent angles for that time period combined with an excellent front and iron non-roached topline. His dark pigment and classic head made for an outstanding "German" German Shepherd. I feel incredible priviledged that Lindau German Shepherds goes back to such an outstanding representitive of the breed. Thank you again, Mary Southcott, for allowing me to purchase my wonderful Cara-Mia's Don-Tyras CD OVC. All of my bloodlines go back to this wonderful dog. |
