Once upon a time... I wrote more often in my log.
It's has been a few weeks since the last time, but I do have a very good excuse... my boyfriend Niek has arrived in Thailand and he keeps me busy (..). But I'll start with my story where I ended.
The 24th of December I had a great time at the Swedish Chritmasparty, my gift at the end was a Christmas-had with red and green lights that makes you dizzy. After the giftexchange we had a few hours before dinner and I went to take a nap, I was kind of tired, and I allmost overslept! I came 1 hour to late at dinner, bit I wasn't the only one. Dinner was not a real Chritmasdiner, just a pick from the menu, in my case it was spaghetti. That night we had a great party together with hundreds of people on the beach, the place was totally packed. The next day, the 25th, I had a real Christmasdiner but I didn't enjoy that to much, I had a hangover....
The plan was that Niek, my boyfriend, would come to join me on Ko Phanang, but I could't arrange his travel from Bangkok to Ko Phanang, and the risc that he would be there alone and I woulndn't see him then, made me deside to pack my back and I left to Bangkok. I was really lucky that I could make a hotelreservation because I was afraid everything would be booked. I traveled by boat and bus for 18 hours when I arrived in Bangkok, and still had a few hours before Niek would arrive on the airport. I was very nervous and exited to see him again, but when I did, I felt so good! That day (the 30th of December) we did rest a lot, saving some energy for the next day, Newyear.
At Newyear we went on the street and there was a lot to do, but suddenly I didn't feel so good so we went back to our hotel (On Kao San Road, very famous by travelers and tourist). Just before 00:00 the year 2002, we went back to the street, it was packed with people, and we celebrated Newyear. On the street itself it was to crowded to walk, it was kind of scary because people couldn't get out if they wanted to. We staid on the side in a quiet corner and just watching the people. We wanted to go to a party, but didn't know where to go, we finally ended up in a very cool place, with Thai and farangs (foreigners). It was very expensive, 1 drink costed more then in The Netherlands,
but it was worth it. You could dance to different kinds of housemusic, inside or outside, the decorations were beautiful and the club itself... wauw! At around 06:00 am we went back to our hotelroom and rested all Newyearsday.
We staid in Bangkok for a few days, visited the Grand Palace and did some shopping. Two very nice things I bought for myself, a pair of glasses (not sunglasses) and I 'did' my hair. Here in Thaliand I really need to wear glasses because I'm not familair here and the roads arn't too good, but I hated my glasses, I had bought them 1 year ago just to drive a car, watch tv etc. and now I had to wear it all day...bleh! But now I think I have cool glasses, very modern and I feel so much better. Luckely the glasses from my 'old' pair fitted in my new pair of glasses so it didn't cost me that much.
The other thing is my hair, they braided my hair and added fake hair aswel, whiteblond and a little purple, down to my waist. I do like it a lot but it will only stay for six weeks, they say. Maybe I'll do it again. When my digitale camera is fixed, I can show you.
There is so much more to tell, but I'm kind of tirred, so I'll be back! (in a few days)
Bye,
Linda
