Finally I'm relaxed! But before I begin I start where I ended...:)
I had to stay for 2 nights in Georgetown to wait for my Thai visa and that was more then enough! There are a few things to do around there but I just couldn't wait to go to Thailand. The day I had to wait I spend like a real tourist, I visited a Chinese Buddhist temple on Penang Hill, which was very beautiful (I hope to place the pics asap) and then I went to the top of Penang Hill with a mountaintrain. It took me 1 hour to get in (it was a schoolholiday, so very busy) and then it took a half hour to reach the top, sweating and dying for fresh air. OK, the view was nice, but I couldn't enjoy it too much because I was thinking about the way back (another hour and a half???)
When I returned in my guesthouse I fell asleep on bed, I woke up at 21:00, and didn't feel like going out of the door. The night before I noticed that the nightlife in Georgetown isn't all that, or maybe I just missed the spot?
The next day I traveled by bus to Krabitown and went to bed early, the trip was exhausting (9 hours). I didn't want to stay in Krabitown, I wanted to go to a beach! But I found out that highseason started already and that it would be difficult to find a cheap accommodation somewhere on or near a beach.
To avoid carrying my heavy backpack around looking for a cheap place, I took a local bus to Ao Nang today, and visited 2 other beaches by boat to find something I liked and could afford. I was lucky to find a cheap room in Ao Nang (200 Bath, less the 5 US dollar), the place I liked best. The beach isn't the best but you can take a longtailboat to different beautiful beaches, and there is some nightlife in Ao Nang. I'm planning to stay there for a few days and get rid off my stress.
Internetaccess is more expensive there, and I won't be doing much else besides laying on a beach, so I'll be back in a few days. It's always nice to receive some feedback, love to hear from you.
Bye for know,
Linda
