| The progenitor of the MITCHELL family in Robeson County, NC was Nazarith Mitchell. By his testimony for his Rev. War pension, he was born in Northampton County, NC...but lived and enlisted in Franklin County, NC. The years of service for him were 1778-79, & 1781. He fought in the battles of Briar Creek and Guilford County Court House. He settled in Robeson County in 1787, married and raised his family there. He is buried outside Fairmont, NC on private property. |
