576. John COKER was born on 18 Jul 1641. ⁽³⁵¹⁾ He owned 400 acres in 1684 in Surry Co., VA.⁽³⁵²⁾ He owned land which he sold on 20 Apr 1685 in Isle of Wight Co., VA. He signed a will in 1711 in Surry Co., VA.⁽³⁵³⁾ Leg. To son, William Coker, 100 acres at Upper old plantation and at his death to his son, John Cocker. To wife, Margarette, and her heirs all the rest of my estate. 22 May 1711. Prob. 19 Oct 1720. Wit: John Allen, James Allen, Arthur Allen. Surry Co., Va Will Book 7 page 281 He died about 1720 in Lawnes Creek, Surry Co., VA. ⁽³⁵⁴⁾ He had an estate probated in 1721 in Surry Co., VA.⁽³⁵⁵⁾ He was married to Margaret CLAY about 1670. Margaret was the widow of Stephen Allen.

577. Margaret CLAY was born about 1650. She died in 1721 in Surry Co., VA. She signed a will on 21 Sep 1721 in Surry Co., VA. ⁽³⁵⁶⁾ To my grandson, John Coker, 50 acres of land where he now lives, beginning at James Bennett's line, easterly to the Pocoson Spring Branch to Samuel Baser's line. To John Coker, Jr., that is the son of my grandson, John Coker, 230 acres of land on the west side of Cypress Swamp adj. John Phillips' land on the south side of Cypress Swamp, on east side and Samuel Vaser's land on the north and Wm. Coker's land on the west. If he die to his brother, Thomas Coker, and appoints John Coker, father of the said child and Anthony Evans to hold his land in their possession until said John Coker is 18 yrs. old. To grandson, John Coker, a Bible, trunk, etc., at my son William's house and all rest of estate at William Coker's to him. To grandson, John Coker, all the rest of my estate in general.
