974. Robert PYLE (387) was born in Dec 1660 in Bishops Canning, Wiltshire Co., England. (388) He was baptized on 29 Dec 1660 in Horton, Parish of Bishops Cannings, Wiltshire, England. (389)(390) He emigrated in 1682/83 from Bethel Twp., Chester Co., PA.(391) (392) Robert Pyle came to Pennsylvania bewee 1682 and 1683 and settle in Bethel Twp. (now Delaware Co.) This information is contained in the Chichester Mtg. Record. He owned 150 acres on 1 May 1683 in Concord Township, PA.(393) The land was purchased from William Smith who bought 1250 acres from William Penn in August 1682. Robert built a home by August 1684 and was an active member of Chichester Monthly Meeting. Meetings were often held in his home. He served as a representative in teh Privincial Assembly for nine terms, officiated as a judge of Chester Court and represented PA on the commission which determined the circular boundary line between PA and DE. In June 1711, he obtained 170 acres in Concord form Nathan Baker (part of the William Collett tract of 300 acres). He was elected as Member of Assembly between 1688 and 1705. (394) Robert Pyle was elected to the Assembly in 1688, 1689, 1690, 1692, 1695, 1699, 1700, 1701, 1705 He signed a will on 2 Jan 1729/30 in Chester Co., PA.(395) He died on 17 Jan 1730 in Bethel Twp., Chester Co., PA.(396) (397) He had an estate probated on 29 Aug 1730 in Chester Co., PA.(398) He was a Maltster.(399) He was Friends. (400) Robert Pyle purchased from William Smith on 1 May 1683, 150 acres in Bethel Township, Chester Co., PA. (now Delaware Co.) Once in his new home he allied himself with his fellow believers and became a member and trustee of Chichester Meeting, he became a leader among the members, and was delegated to establish new meetings. Very often meetings were held in his home. At different times he was a member of the Provincial Assembly and was for many years a justice in county courts. He was married to Susannah (Ann) STOVEY on 16 Nov 1681 in Hilperton, Wilts Co., England. (401)

975. Susannah (Ann) STOVEY was born in 1665 in Hilperton, Wiltshire Co., England. (402) Penciled in on page 774 are the birth and death years of Ann Stovey. She died in 1705.(403) She was Quaker in Bethel Monthly Meeting, PA. Children were:

child vi. Jacob PYLE was born on 5 Jan 1691.(411) He owned 170 acres in Apr 1715 in Concord Township, PA. His father deeded him the land. After Jacobs unexpected death the land was deeded to his son, Samuel, who farmed the land until he sold it to William McCay in February 1755. He died in 1717.(412)

child viii. Daniel PYLE was born on 29 May 1694.(417) He died after 1789 in Concord Township, PA. He owned 130 acres in Dec 1789 in Concord Township, PA.(418) The land was purchased in a sheriff's sale of the original George Lee property. The land is still the Pyle family.
