How We Met: In the summer of 1995 John was attending University of Toledo, working on his B.S. in Criminal Justice and playing on the football team. Gretchen was enrolled in the Hospitality Management school at Owens College while working at the local country bar. John and several of his friends came in and sat at one of Gretchen's tables. The rest is history. |

Gretchen's Dress Gretchen is wearing the wedding dress worn by both her mother and grandmother. Lee Kirkby Lucas wore this dress August 31, 1946 and Linda Lucas Fayerweather wore it August 21, 1971. The gown is fashioned of silk marquisette with a long Basque bodice and Victorian bustle accented with point d'Venice lace swept to a chapel length train. Changes to the dress include Linda having it lengthened six inches and Gretchen adding more Victorian lace, changing the neckline and shorting the veil. |
