~~~ SUMMER ~~~
Hot summer days and a smokey haze
The sweet smell of corn so tall
A gentle breeze, in tall green trees
A cardinal�s melodious call.
Puffy clouds in a sun drenched sky
The smell of new mown hay
A fluttering monarch butterfly
And honey bees buzzing all day.
Farmer�s market in the county park
Fresh tomatoes, beets, and beans
Cherries, Peaches and Apple Pies,
All waiting to be seen.
The 4-H Fair where kids show off,
Their cows and pigs and bunnies.
Their sewing, cooking and photographs
And skits that inform or are funny.
Fireflies light the sky at night
Moonbeams add to the glow
Bullfrogs croak and crickets chirp
A song that�s soft and slow.
