~~ MY MEMORY BASKET ~~
My Memory Basket's filled with many things
And oh what memories they bring.
Of happy times from years gone by
Each one guaranteed to bring a sigh.
First is my Grandmas old crochet hook
She used it instead of reading a book.
Afghans she made for young and old
To snuggle up with in the winters cold
Next out is a ruby glass vase with no flaws
The collection, now mine, was my Mother-in-laws.
A picture of Ginger, my Sister-in-laws cat,
Brings stories of antics that will make you all laugh.
A circular slide tray that belongs to my Mother
Hold memories of vacations we took with each other.
A stuffed toy of Big Bird belonged to my daughter
It had to go everywhere, what it looked like didnt matter.
Bills Dads grandfather clock chimed with glee
It came all the way from Germany.
The Flexible Flyer I rode with my Dad
Down the Nevada Street hill made any kid glad.
Its good to share memories of ones we hold dear
So keep that basket ever so near.
And when relatives and friends come to call
You can get out your basket and share with all.
