A Farmer's Wife by Linda Hotger

~~ A FARMER'S WIFE ~~

All the folks who live in town,
Will never know the joy I've found;
In wooly lambs and mother sheep,
In fuzzy baby chicks that peep.
The baby kittens that play in the hay,
And chase their tails around all day;
The frisky calves that run on by,
With a glint of mischief in their eye.

To stand in corn up to your knees,
And see the oats wave in the breeze;
To see the butterflies and bees,
And watch the birds up in the trees.
The crimson beauty of the fall,
The corn and beans fill bins, so tall;
These things I love and pray each day,
The Lord will never take away.

Each season has its ups and downs,
That makes us smile and also frown;
I'm so thankful for my life,
And proud to be a farmer's wife.
