~~ AUTUMN IN THE WOODS ~~

In the woods, on a autumn day,
It looks as if an artists' been at play.
The leaves, all red and green and gold,
Liew strewn about by the wind, so bold.

They're on their way, the birds on wing,
So they won't feel the winter's sting.
The squirrels are running here and there,
Gathering nuts for their winter lair.

The sky is blue; the sun is bright;
The wind is blowing with all its might.
Soon winter will bring snow so deep,
And then the woods will go to sleep.
