Mom And Dad
I know you are surprised to see me-yes, I know it's been so long- I think it's been two year's now since I've been gone.
The past few day's I've been thinking about you a lot Mom and Dad- Going through the day's of my childhood- and all the good times we had.
I remember the sacrifices that you both gladly made for me- But being a child so interested in play- I was too blind to see.
I remember the time, Mom, when you were so sick with the flu- And you got up to bake my birthday cake- Mom, I never even thanked you.
And Dad , I remember you taking me fishing- Oh, the one's we carried home- The quality time you spent with me- I miss it now- - It's gone.
Mom, I loved those homemade cookies you were always baking for me- My friends would come for miles around to taste your delicacy.
Dad, you taught me not to judge people- to love my fellowman- As a growing child I tuned you out- but now I understand.
I came today to Thank You Mom and Dad, for every hug , for every tear- In childhood I took for granted the privilege of simply having you near.
Thank You Mom an Dad for instilling in me the values that I have today- I miss you Mom and Dad so much- I guess that's all I came here to say.
I brought two dozen roses, and with tear's I give them to you- I place them on both your graves, still wet with morning dew. With a heartful of love and a silent goodbye I turn and walk away- Clinging to all the memories...holding on to yesterday!
