Working Dog Sweepstakes

The purpose of the Working Dog Sweepstakes is to recognize and honor dogs that possess verified working abilities and that most closely resemble the UKC standard for the Belgian Shepherd Dog. Best in Working Sweeps and Best Opposite in Working Sweeps will be chosen from the winners of the male and female classes.

Classes are divided by working level and gender. Each dog, regardless of age or variety, is entered in the class appropriate for the level/titles earned. Disciplines: obedience, agility, herding, tracking, schutzhund, ring sport (Belgian, French or Mondio), KNPV, service work (assistance, police, SAR). Discipline titles earned in multiple venues for the same level count as one title (i.e., an AKC CDX & UKC CDX counts as one CDX title). The highest of progressive titles counts as one title (i.e., FR1 & FR2 equals one FR2).

If a discipline or title is not listed that you feel makes a dog eligible for a certain level class, you may submit that title’s documentation along with your reasoning and request the sweepstakes chair consider the entry eligibility. The sweepstakes chair will make the sole and final determination of eligibility.

Photocopies of certificates and/or score books of all titles required for class/eligibility must be submitted along with the entry form.

Dogs entered in Working Dog Sweepstakes do not need to be entered in a regular class, but must be UKC registered.
