To become a member of Lincoln Pet Partners you must:

Complete the Pet Partners Team Training Course.

Have a domestic animal that passes the Delta health requirements,
done by the animal's veterinarian.

Be an animal/handler team that passes the Delta Pet Partners Skills Test.
which is based, with permission, on the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test

Be an animal/handler team that passes the Delta Pet Partners Apptitude
Test.

Send your application to the Delta Society and be accepted by them as a
Pet
Partners team. (Delta charges a $35 fee for a 2 year membership
which
includes an insurance program.) |

The Pet Partners Team Training Course can be completed by joining the
Lincoln Pet Partners'
class at Southeast Community College. The fee for
this four session class is $15.

General techniques for visiting.

Types of facilities.

This class is taught by a team which is headed by a Delta certified
instructor. .
Potential members can also do the Pet Partners Team Training course by
ordering the Pets Helping People Manual from the Delta Society and working
on their own.. This book comes with a video tape and can be purchased from
the Delta Society for about $35 which includes the shipping and handling.
After completeing the material they can contact us for a testing date.
We test four times a year soon after the completion of our classes at
Southeast Community College. Our tester has been certified by the Delta
Society and she works with a permanent team of assistants so that as much
as possible our testing is consitent for all applicants. The Greater
Lincoln Obedience Club allows us to use their facility.
