| INTRODUCTION TO DRAMA I #426 1/2 CREDIT Length of course: 1 semester Grade Level: 9-12 Prerequisite: Recommendation from English Teacher This course will provide opportunities for students to learn about the various aspects of drama, skills such as acting, pantomiming, and improvising will be enhanced. Some literary analysis and writing will be required. Students will also learn about play production and be required to work at least six out of class hours on current Drama Department productions. This course will encourage self motivation, commitment, and professionalism. |
| DRAMA II #432 1/2 CREDIT Length of course: 1 semester Grade Level: 9-12 Prerequisite: Drama I and permission of the Teacher This course will continue developing the skills needed to analyze and perform dramatic texts. The expectations for Drama I apply for Drama II, however the students in Drama II are expected and required to be more self-disciplined and more self-motivated. The topics in this class rotate every semester. Unit subjects include, but are not limited to: Directing, Advanced Improvisation, Acting Shakespeare, Stage Dialects, Advanced Playwriting, Greek Tragedy, Non-Realistic Drama and Stage Combat. This course is repeatable for elective credits only. |
