I've realized that attraction for me, is just a manifestation of that desire for evolution or completion that we all have. The intuitive feeling in all of us,  that in our purest form we are the potential for EVERYTHING,
Most of us live as a manifestation of "something".

Yet, there is that pull for expanding...for completion...for merging.
A feeling of the infinite potential underlying us. THe pull to be everything as opessed to something.

The pull for evolution is a manifestation of that. What's evolution if not expansion?

And I realized, attraction is that for me, as I get attracted to people that I sence in some way, can teach me something. Take me to the next level.
Help me develop something in me that is not developed. Expansion, once again.  Reaching out for our full potential.

Therefore, the way I experience it, passion and desire, be it physical, or on some other level, is nothing other than the same pull for completion.
For unity with everything that we're not, but that on some level, we sense we have the potential to be.

In that train of thought, if greed (desire for power, money, material things, etc) is a displacement of the sexual desire, caused by sex being repressed in our society for so long (1), then it would also be a displacement of that intuitive pull in all of us to "merge".

The original pull to "complete" ourselves displaced to a desire to "fill ourselves up" with... well, you name it. Money, things, food, etc.
Another way of "completing" and "expanding" ourselves.
Just a displacement of the original pull, usually manifested in sexual desire and passion, and caused by a society that represses and hides sex.

ON SOCIALIZATION
Learning, the process that we call socialization is the process of turning the potential for everything into a concrete "one thing".A concrete person with concrete traits, skills, etc. Yet we're always unconsciously and intuitively reaching out for our full potential. For the "everything" as opossed to the "something" that we are. It's like, we sense that infinite potential and want to fulfill it. Every desire is a variation of this.
