| This is one view of the Aswan Dam, a massive construction. Constructed between 1898 and 1912. At the time of it's construction it was the largest dam in the world, and until the building of the high dam in 1971 it remained the worlds longest. It was designed to put an end to the annual inundation of the Nile. |

| Luxor Temple was 623 ft / 190 m long and 180 ft / 55 m wide at it's broadest part. Like all Egyptian temples, Luxor , comprised of the chapels of the deities with their vestibules and subsidiary chambers, a large hypostle hall and an open peristyle court, which was approached from the N by a great colonnade. |

| The ancient Egyptian town of Ombos whose name has been preserved in the present day Kom Ombo ("Hill of Ombos"). The two principle gods of Ombos were the crocodile-headed Sobek (Suchos) and the falcon-headed Haroeris. With Sobek were associated Hathor and the youthful moon god Khons-Hor,with Haroeris Tsnetnofret, the "Good Sister". The temple precinct, laying some 50 ft / 15 m above the average level of the Nile, enclosed by a brick wall. |

| The 2000-year-old Temple of Horus, known as the temple of Edfu is almost perfectly preserved. Built on the site of an earlier temple, it was dedicated to the sun god Horus, Hathor of Dendera and their son the youthful Harsomtus (Hersemtawi), "Uniter of the Two Lands". |
