Welcome to The JavaScript and Animated GIF Paradise

Welcome on this site. On this site you will find stuff about JavaScript and animated GIF's here. Just browse through the site and enjoy.

JavaScript

  • As you probably red before, JavaScript is a very popular script-language on the Internet. It actually is the only script-language supported by the very most of leading browsers. JavaScript is an excellent middle between HTML and Java. HTML offers far too less possibilities for an interactive World Wide Web and Java is too difficult to learn for beginning webmasters. But JavaScript offers the perfect opportunity for an interative WebSite even if you are just one person making a not so difficult personal homepage. To use the scripts that are available on this site, you don't need JavaScript knowledge. You only need to know how HTML works. If you do know something about JavaScript (or JS for short), the script-examples can be very handy as inspiration.

    Animated GIF

The GIF(Graphics Interchange Format)-format was designed by Compuserve(www.compuserve.com) with the goal of making a image format that was small enough to be downloaded pretty quickly. Later came animated GIF, which is now one of the smallest animation-format for the Internet (only a Java-applet is smaller). The easy usage of animated GIF is another advantage. You can ad an animated GIF to your page the same as a normal image (<IMG SRC=...).At the left side you see some A-GIF examples that are available on this site

  • JavaScript And Java

The public has largely confused Java Script and Java, but their uses and levels of difficulty are actually quite different.

The most basic difference between Java and Java Script, is that Java is a full-scale programming language and Java Script is an easy-to-use scripting language. With Java, you can create applets which are embedded within a web page or even stand-alone applications. By integrating Java Script into your HTML, you can make the elements of a web page respond to user actions.

The two languages do share a common root, however, as their names suggest. The same company, Sun Microsystems, endorses the two languages, as they share syntax and structure. Additonally, Java Script is able to control and share information with Java applets.

    Typical Java Uses:

  • Creating a game which runs in a browser window.
  • Creating interactive web graphics.
  • Writing stand-alone applications.

    Typical Java Script Uses:
  • Customizing a page based on the user's browser version.
  • Providing visual feedback to the user actions
  • Checking for mistakes in formes before they are submitted.
