| ����������� Before I got saved I felt that I had nothing going for me. My life was in an endless spiral leading me to an early grave. Nothing in my life seemed to matter to me until I found Jesus. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| ����������� About six years ago I started to meet guys off the Internet. Having this chance of going out with somebody who did not know me was wonderful to me. I had nothing going on for me at school no guy would look twice when I was around, but when I was on the Internet I would get all of the attention. Not because of my looks but because of how I acted. None of them cared what I looked like all they cared about was what they can get, and I gave it to them. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| ����������� So I would meet endless guys off the Internet lying to my parents about where I was at that time. I remember one time I walked at the end of my street and waited and my� neighbor made a comment on how I looked like a hooker. It seemed like I was a hooker sometimes, doing things to these guys that I just met, having no love for myself because I would do anything for a guy just so it seemed like he cared for me a little bit. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| ����������� However my breaking point was when I was with this guy that I met offline. We went to the movies to see The Ring. It was so natural to me by now I decided to go on what I would normally do to a guy. In the middle of this action he had told me to stop. Right at that point, I knew I had to change my ways. The look on his face was disgust my heart dropped and I knew I had to change my life, because if I did not one day all of the things I was doing was going to go come back to me and I may have ended up raped or maybe I could have died. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| ����������� From that shameful night, I knew I had to change the way I was living. I had been going to church, but I never took it seriously. Then one wonderful day in March our youth group took a weekend trip to Tennessee for a worship service called Winterfest. In my mind Winterfest was just a reason to get out of school but in my heart, I really wanted to be saved and to welcome Jesus in my heart. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| ����������� Then it happened. Saturday nights service changed my life forever. The guest speaker was this huge African- American man name Reggie Dabbs. From the start of the sermon, I knew that he would be a very spiritual speaker. He had his ways in talking to younger teenagers, relating different problems to what we may be facing. His topics were all over the place, from drug use, to being suicidal , and to being raped . As he started talking about those things, I closed my eyes and began to pray that I would be forgiven for what I had done in the past. I would never have thought that I would have been able to be forgiven because my actions were so bad. But as my eyes were closed Reggie said to us, "Kill it all, it does not matter what you have done in the past, just kill it all". At the moment I could feel my body begin to be lifted, my heart started to fill in again from all the broken cracks. And as I stand their crying my eyes out I just felt this spirit come in me and my mind and soul felt different. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| ����������� Its hard to explain how it felt different, but I knew that from that point on what I wanted to do was to please the Lord. After that weekend, I stopped talking to guys off the Internet and that's when I met my soul-mate. With him and the words of God I knew that I did not have to do anything sexual with him just so he can stay with me. I knew that all I had to do was give my heart and my soul to him and he would love me for that. That feeling that I had at Winterfest was wonderful and it's something I want to keep with me forever. | |||||||||||||||||||||
