Stardate: 1982.15.3606.6

Out in space orbiting around the planet Earth, a large space platform starships docking and leaving from it. One such starship docked and waiting. It is the USS Enterprise Omega, awaiting its maiden flight to the outer fringes of space. A place where no man or being has gone before.

WOMAN: Come on. We have to go.

ALIEN BEING: I'm coming! I'm coming!

They quickly head to the transporter room.

Inside this vast platform a group of men, women, and alien beings are making their way to their duty assignments: some are heading for this ship. The transporter room is busy transporting many to the ship.

ON THE SURFACE OF EARTH

a woman wearing a Starfleet uniform is walking through the cooridors of Starfleet. She is heading for the shuttlebay. Her name is CAPTAIN SHIRLEEN TWINNER, a tall chocolate skinned woman, black hair done up behind her head in a bun. Shirleen is joined by a slightly taller older gentleman with balding gray hair and a mustache. His name is ADMIRAL TURNOVER. Shirleen looks over at him.

SHIRLEEN: Admiral? Can I help you with anything?

ADMIRAL TURNOVER: Just walking with you to the shuttle. You know anything about your crew?

SHIRLEEN(looks over at her father's best friend.): I know a bit. What's this about Borth?

ADMIRAL TURNOVER: Borth. Yes, he's a Boranthan. Top scores in Starfleet. He'll make an excellent First Officer.

SHIRLEEN(nods): Thats good.

The two reach the shuttleport where Shirleen's shuttle awaits her. Stepping on the transporter pad, Shirleen smiles at the Admiral as he watches before nodding to the Transporter Enigineer to energize. The Transporter Engineer does so as Shirleen begins phazing out and disappearing completely to reappear on her shuttle.

ADMIRAL TURNOVER: (watches as she disappears.): Take care of yourself Captain Twinner. (thinking to himself) Your father will be proud of you.

Admiral Turnover turns on his heel and leaves, heading out.

ON THE SHUTTLE

Shirleen is seated in a seat, seatbelt fastened across her body. She's completely still and rigid. Her thoughts, on the other hand are on her new command. She's also the only person on the shuttle excepting the pilot.

The shuttle leaves Earth's orbit heading for space and the platform floating serenly around the Earth. Shirleen looks out the window of her shuttle to watch their approach.

In the ship, Omega, on the bridge that looks like a large circular room, computers along the sides stopping at the front where the viewscreen is situated. In the center of this room are soft seats; one for the captain and one for the First Officer.

The Tactical Officer, a slender Xorn named Zun, a strange tan skinned being with a long dog-like snout and claws.

ZUN: Commander, the Captain will be beamed aboard....

COMMANDER BORTH (turns to look at the Xorn.): Of course Luetinent Zun.(indicates to the Helmsman and Navigator) Let us go.

The First Officer and the other two step away and move over to the door. They slide open as the three enter. The doors slide shut behind them.

The Navigator and Helmsman are both humans, a man and a woman. The Navigator, a muscular woman from the planet Rogar where all are built like strongmen. Her name is FERAGA, the best Navigator in Starfleet. The Helmsman is a man Earthborn named TED PRESTON.

FERAGA(has an deep voice though she's female.): Anyone know what the Captain look like?

TED: She's very good. I know she helped the Boranthans when they had their troubles with the Zurumians. (looks at the First Officer.)

The Boranthan First Officer only nods as the ship's elevator stops, the doors open. The three step out and begins walking toward Transporter Room 3. They are joined by the Ship's Engineer, a human man named CHRIS COOPER and the Councillor, a shapeshifter female named ROOMA.

CHRIS (to the First Officer): Well here we go again.

COMMANDER BORTH: The Captain will do fine. Do not worry about it.

ROOMA: I have a feeling that this Captain will be the one to make this ship great.

CHRIS: We shall see....

Commander Borth shakes his head. He knew of the rivalry between those two.

TRANSPORTER ROOM THREE

Standing next to the sliding door as the Transporter Technician operates the transporter. The group stands straight as the transporter begins its beam in. Now, Captain Twinner appears. She steps off the transporter pad as Commander Borth steps forward.

COMMANDER BORTH: Captain, I am Commander Borth, your first officer.(indicating the others.) This is Leutinent Ted Preston, the Helmsman, Feraga the Navigator, Leutinent Chris Cooper, Ship's Chief Engineer, and Councillor Rooma....

Shirleen nods to each other them. Now she stares at the councillor.

SHIRLEEN: Shapeshifter?

ROOMA: You are perseptive. I am a Shapeshifter though not like the others so I will not betray you, Captain. You are my Captain.

SHIRLEEN: Thats good to know.

COMMANDER BORTH: Will you see your quarters or the bridge, Ma'am?

SHIRLEEN: The bridge.

COMMANDER BORTH: Of course Captain.

The group leave Transporter Room 3 and heads for the bridge.

HEADING FOR THE BRIDGE

Shirleen, her First Officer, the Navigator, and the Helmsman is moving through the cooridor, a long slightly rounding hallways with closed doors, computer panels, and windows along the sides of them.

SHIRLEEN(looks at her First Officer as she walks): Is the ship in working order?

COMMANDER BORTH(nods): Yes ma'am. All is in excellent working order.

SHIRLEEN: Good. Will we be able to leave on time?

TED PRESTON: Yes. We will be able to leave on time, Captain.

SHIRLEEN: Good. I want no problems stopping our scheduled departure from the platform.

COMMANDER BORTH: There won't be. Engineering has been all over with a fine tooth comb. All problems have been dealt with and there is no reason for the ship to not depart the space platform.

SHIRLEEN(nods.): Good.

Shirleen, her First Officer, the Navigator, and the Helmsman step into the turbo lift as it takes them up to the Bridge. There's silence for a while.

Finally, the doors of the turbo lift opens on the bridge. They step out. The Navigator and the Helmsman moves to their stations, the First Officer waits for his captain. Their about five feet from the doors of the turbo lift. The rest of the crew is watching the two. She indicates with a nod that he should go on. Commander Borth moves from his captain's side and goes over to his seat. Seconds later, Shirleen steps down from the one step and makes her way around to the captain's seat next to her First Officer.

Off to right, the Communications Officer, a tall robust humanoid--with the body of a bear though like no bear ever seen on Earth, and a face like a wolf, who is called ENSIGN TOOMAR. He has a Communications Headset over one ear turns to face the Captain.

ENSIGN TOOMAR: Captain, we may proceed to depart.

SHIRLEEN(nods.): Very good. (looks over at Ted Preston at the Helm.) Let's go.

TED PRESTON(nods while his hands are moving across his console.): Yes Ma'am.

The massive starship moves out of the space platform slowly. Ted maneuvers the ship with ease as the starship now floats sedately in space. The ship moves away from the platform.

Now far enough out, Shirleen, seated in her chair looks toward the helm where Ted Preston sits.

SHIRLEEN(to the helmsman): Take us out warp eight.

TED PRESTON: Warp eight, captain.

Ted's hands move across his console as the ship takes off at warp eight.

FAR FROM EARTH

The starship Omega begins its journey. Things are pretty quiet at the moment. On the bridge, the First Officer is on his watch.

TED PRESTON: Sir, I'm picking up a ship ahead of us...?

COMMANDER BORTH(sitting forward.): Put it up on the screen.

TED PRESTON: Yes sir.

Ted's hands moves over the console as the screen in front of them comes on revealing a small ship. The ship's small.

ZUN: Sir, I'm picking up multiple readings on that ship.

COMMANDER BORTH: What is it?

ZUN(looks over at the First Officer before looking at its console and reading from it): Phaser weapons....

COMMANDER BORTH(interrupts at this realization): Shields up! Red alert! Apprise the captain!

ZUN: Yes Sir!

IN HER READY ROOM

Shirleen is at the desk looking over some reports when a bell like sound beeps. Shirleen reaches over and presses a button.

VOICE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COMMUNICATOR: Captain you're needed on the bridge.

Shirleen: I'm on my way.

Shirleen gets to her feet and moves over to the door. The door slides open as Shirleen quickly goes through it and enters the left side of the bridge. She stops and looks at the screen before making her way over to her seat and sits down.

SHIRLEEN(looks at her First Officer): Whats going on?

COMMANDER BORTH: We have a ship, Captain....

Before the Commander can say anything more the Tactical Officer interupts on checking his read outs.

ZUN: Readouts show the other ship powering up its weapons array.


SHIRLEEN: Any word from the other ship?

COMMANDER BORTH: No Captain they never answered any of our hails.

The ship shutters violently as the other powers up and fires his phasers.

ON THE BRIDGE OF THE ENTERPRISE OMEGA

Shirleen turns her head to the left over her shoulder where Tactical is. Another shutter runs through the ship again.

Shirleen: Damage report?

ZUN: Sheild damage mininimal.

Another shockwave hits the ship causing Shirleen and crew to jerk in reaction.

SHIRLEEN: Fire phasers!

ZUN: Yes Captain.

Slim yellow beams of light coming from the starship speeds to the smaller one. There is a detonation over on the other side.

ZUN: The other ship's weapons' array is down Captain.

SHIRLEEN: Fire another shot....For their shields.

ZUN: Yes ma'am.

Another yellow beam is fired and another detonation.

ZUN: Shields are down on the other ship, Captain.

SHIRLEEN: Good.(turns to the Communications Officer.) Hail that ship.

ENSIGN TOOMAR: Yes Captain.

The Communications Officer own hands are now moving across their console before looking over at the captain.

ENSIGN TOOMAR: Channel is open captain.

On the forward screen the crew of the Enterprise Omega see strange cloaked beings. Their skin is ripply and scaled. It is a beige color. The eyes of the one that answered; probably the captain of the ship are red colored.

SHIRLEEN(nods): Good. This is the Federation Starship Omega, Captain Shirleen Twinner speaking. Why are you firing on us? We have done nothing to warrent this act.

The other ship's captain doesn't answer but turns away from the front screen.

ALIEN CAPTAIN(to its crew): Engage self destruct!

Shirleen turns to look over at her Tactical Officer.

SHIRLEEN: What kind of damage are we looking at?

ZUN(after checking his console): Captain, the force of such a blast from that ship would rip a hole in space and time. All life for over three hundred lightyears will be affected, negatively that is.

SHIRLEEN(looking to her First Officer and the rest of the crew): Any answers on how we are going to stop this?

ZUN: There is one way, a phaser stream directly at the weapons array of that ship again will send a shockwave to the self destruct mechanism causing the blast to implode but would open a small rift in space.(pauses to look over at the captain) The resulting rip would, while destroying the ship causing the Enterprise Omega to be forced in this rip.

SHIRLEEN(sighs): Are there any other suggestions about this? I don't want to make the decision for this on the basis that this ship will be forced into the rip if there's another alternitive.

There is no other answer from the rest of the crew. They're all in agreement.

COMMANDER BORTH: Its the only way Captain. All those planets that would be effected.

SHIRLEEN(another sigh.): All right. (turns to the Communication Officer, Ensign Toomar.) Hail that ship again.

ENSIGN TOOMAR: Yes Captain.

The screen shows the other ship's interior and its captain.

SHIRLEEN: I'd advise you abandon this fruitless plan of self detonating. Or at least, abandon your ship.

The other ship's captain ignores her as the computer on the other ship begins its countdown but starting at fifteen seconds. Red lights flash on the screen from the other ship.

COMMANDER BORTH: They have committed themselves Captain....

SHIRLEEN(nods and indicates with her head to Ensign Toomar): End transmitting Ensign Toomar.

The forward screen shows the ship before them. Shirleen turns to her Tactical Officer.

SHIRLEEN: Fire the phaser stream.

ZUN: Aye Captain.

A STREAM OF LIGHT COMING FROM THE SHIP HEADING FOR OTHER SHIP

The phaser stream speeds toward the other ship and strikes it dead on. As the phaser stream struck, an explosion begins bowling around the ship. Then the ship and the explosion begins imploding creating a rip in the distance.

SHIRLEEN: Helm, warp nine. (watching the rip as it begins to expand.)

Ted's hands move across the console as the ship begins moving faster. They see the pitch black rip beginning to bring in the debris of the other ship into its blackness.

The Enterprise Omega makes a very good effort on escaping but it is no use--the ship is pulled into the rift.

SHIRLEEN(as the ship is sucked in.): Hang on!

FROM WITHIN THE RIFT

There is blackness with the exception for streams of light flashing by them.

ZUN(checking his console before speaking): Captain! We're going at warp twenty!

SHIRLEEN: What! How can that be? (she leans over to where another console is and taps on it.) Engineering, why are we going at warp twenty? What's the status of the warp engines?

VOICE OF THE CHIEF ENGINEER: Captain, the warp engines are offline.

TED(his hands moving over his console.): Captain warp engines are truely offline.

SHIRLEEN: How is that possible?

VOICE OF CHIEF ENGINEER: We're working on it.

SHIRLEEN: All right.(takes her hands from the console before her and turning to Navigation.): Feraga, where will we end up?

FERAGA: Aye Captain.

The Navigator begins her search. Her hands moving over her console with rapid speed before she is shocked at something.

FERAGA: Captain, so far we have gone beyond the charts of known space.

SHIRLEEN(shocked and flabbergasted): What!!? How can that be?

FERAGA: My guess is this rift is taking us far out like a....(stops.)

SHIRLEEN(takes up where Feraga stopped): ....Like a wormhole!

Feraga nods. The ship continues speeding to who knows where.

SHIRLEEN: Then how are we going to get out? There's got to be a way.

With the ship going at warp twenty, there seems to be no way of escaping. Suddenly, the ship begins to slow down. Ted Preston at the Helm looks down at his console. What he sees is astonishing. He turns to look at the Captain.

TED: You're not going to believe this captain, but we're slowing down.

SHIRLEEN: What? How can that be?!

TED: I don't know how but there's a definate decrease in our speed.

Shirleen turns to her Tactical Officer.

SHIRLEEN: What is going on here?

ZUN: I don't know captain. Sensors are reading no annomolysis in the area....

Shirleen looks at the forward screen showing the pinpoints of light slowing down. A beep sounds as Shirleen touches the console in front of her.

CHRIS COOPER(voice on the console): We're getting control of the engines. Don't know how but we seem to be getting a jump on things now.

For long moments the starship Omega is trapped in this black part of space with no way of knowing where they are. Then slowly, stars twinkle at them. They are coming out of that 'wormhole'.

SHIRLEEN(turns to Navigation): Find out where are we?

FERAGA: Aye Captain.

The Navigator begins her computer calculations. It takes only a few minutes before Feraga is shocked at what she had gotten and is silent for longer. The Captain looks over at the Navigator.

SHIRLEEN: What is it? Where are we?

FERAGA: We're so far out that there's no record of where we are in the computer's databanks....

SHIRLEEN: What!? How can that be? (looks toward the viewscreen showing planets as small pinpoints of light.) How can we be out of known space?!

Feraga only shakes her head still looking at her console.

FERAGA: I don't know Captain. Perhaps that event we passed through was some kind of wormhole that sent us beyond our starcharts.

SHIRLEEN(sighs.): All right. The first thing we need to do is find out where we are. (looks at Feraga) We need to find out if they are any planets close by. We need information about this new system.

FERAGA(nods): Aye Captain.

COMMANDER BORTH: Will we be able to get back to Federation space, Captain?

SHIRLEEN: We will, in time. But first we need to find out where we are.

Commander Borth nods as they wait for the information from Navigation. This times some time as the starship continues to move forward.

FERAGA(after a while): Captain, there is a planet about two days from where we are.

SHIRLEEN:Excellent! We'll go there.(turns to Helm.) Let's go Leutinent Preston. Warp eight.

TED: Warp eight. Aye captain.

The sound of the ship's engines are heard as a soft whine as the starship powers up and leaves.

TWO DAYS LATER THAT NIGHT

The main crew consisting of the Captain, First Officer and the day shift are sleep while the Night Shift is on duty. Things are pretty quiet. Suddenly something enters the ship through a bulkhead. It floats sedatedly looking around. This intruder are multicolored lights that are twinkling(somthing like stars) before it began scanning the ship's computer. This is what alerts the Night shift as these lights are finding out about the crew.

IN THE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS

the captain is asleep in bed when the communicator begings beeping. Shirleen opens her eyes and presses down on the communicator on her bedstand. Her hair, hanging down her back.

SHIRLEEN(sleepily): Yes?

MALE VOICE: Captain, we're being scanned....

Shirleen wakes up completely at that as she sits up in the bed and is now fully awake.

SHIRLEEN: Scanned? By who?

MALE VOICE: We are having no way of knowing. It seems to be coming from deck elevan. Whoever is scanning us is on the ship.

SHIRLEEN: Send Security. I'm on my way.

MALE VOICE: Aye Captain. Commander Borth has also been apprised of what is going on.

SHIRLEEN: Good.

As Shirleen is talking, she had gotten out of bed and donned her robe over her blue soft nightgown. Then when the male voice is gone she dresses.

ON THE BRIDGE OF THE STARSHIP

Shirleen steps out of the jeffries tube and turns to the Helmsman for the Nightshift, a tall humanoid with brown fur for skin, wolf like ears and snout and wearing a Starfleet uniform. Seated in his seat is Commander Borth.

SHIRLEEN: You find out what is going on?

NAVIGATION: We're picking up some lifeforms but are unable to identify them.

SHIRLEEN: Then what...?

COMMANDER BORTH: There seems to be some interference. Security found nothing.

SHIRLEEN: Then what is it?

Before anyone else can say anything the multicolored sparklers entes the bridge through the wall off to the right of the jefferies tube. They give off their twinkling. Navigation and Tactical tries to scan the lights.

TACTICAL: Readings are picking up nothing....

NAVIGATION: Neither is Navigation. Nothing's there.

Shirleen gets to her feet and moving slowly over to the lights, cautiously.

SHIRLEEN(to the lights): I am Captain Twinner. What are you? Why are you here?

The lights do nothing but glow brighter for a few seconds. Then they begin approaching Shirleen.

COMMANDER BORTH(not liking those lights): Captain look ou...!

Before the Commander can say anything the lights surround Shirleen. And before the crew can take one step, Shirleen and the lights disappear.

COMMANDER BORTH(to Navigation): Follow where the lights are taking the captain. Quickly!

Navigation does so. Outside floating in space the lights have reappeared and with the captain within them. She seems okay to the crew of the starship as the lights moves from them.

NAVIGATION: Commander, the lights are heading for the planet ahead of us.

COMMANDER BORTH: Then follow them. Warp nine.

The ship takes off following the captain and the lights.

ON THE SURFACE OF A PLANET

is a regular Garden of Eden. Flowers growing beside trees. Some like Earth's other's completely alien. Shirleen is still trying to contact her ship via the small communications' device at the top of her uniform.

SHIRLEEN: Enterprise Omega, come in Omega.

There is no answer. Now the twinkling lights begins to pulsating causing Shirleen to look over at them.

SHIRLEEN: What is going on?!

The twinkling lights now give off one brief bright flash and reveals a group of humanoids. Five in all, these humanoids are shorter than Shirleen much the size of ten year old children. They're tan colored with strange multicolored spots along their bodies. The beings surround Shirleen and begins to prod at her.

SHIRLEEN: What are you? Hey! What?

Then off to the side another being approaches causing the prodding to stop. Shirleen turns to face this new being. His is also humanoid who looks human than humanoid except for the strange silvery diamond in the center of his forehead. He has white hair that goes down to his waist making him look like a woman in a way. The being is wearing a kind of white lab coat with soft cloth shoes on his feet. Stopping before the group and Shirleen. He indicates to them. The move away from Shirleen becoming the twinkling lights again before disappearing.

SHIRLEEN(looking at this new being.): Who are you? Where am I? Why was I taken from my ship?

BEING: All shall be revealed. Please Captain Shirleen Twinner, come with me.

SHIRLEEN: Who are you?

BEING(bows before her, a small bow at his upper waist.): Forgive me Captain, I am Zuzan.

SHIRLEEN: Zuzan? Why am I here then.

The being Zuzan says nothing only indicates that she should follow. Zuzan move away from them. With a shrug, Shirleen follows him.

AMONG THE TREES AND FLOWERS

Shirleen is following Zuzan and looking around. Some of the trees are oak, ash, maple. Trees she knew from earth.

SHIRLEEN: What is this place? Where are we going?

ZUZAN: You like the area? Yes it is truly beautiful. A wonderful place to live, don't you think.

Now they reach a wood shack or what seems to be a wood shack. Zuzan continues to walk toward the shack but Shirleen stops staring at the shack in suspicious. Zuzan stops on realizing that Shirleen is not following. He turns around to see her, with hands on hips and a determined look on her face.

SHIRLEEN: I want to know what planet this is? And why am I here? (takes one hand from her hip and points at the shack.) What is that place?

ZUZAN: Forgive me. You are on the planet Tzan.(indicating the shack>) This is my home. You are welcome then all will be answered.

SHIRLEEN: Why am I here?

Zuzan says nothing turns and enters the shack. After awhile, Shirleen shrugs and enters.

INSIDE THE SHACK

is like a small medieval cottage like those seen in pictures back on earth. Shirleen looks around.

SHIRLEEN: All right. What's going on? Why am I here?

Zuzan says nothing but makes an intrigant gesture with his hand. Shirleen disappears.

SHIRLEEN(just before she disappears): What!!!

ON THE BRIDGE OF THE STARSHIP

COMMANDER BORTH(looking at the forward screen showing a planet ahead.): Is that where those lights went to?

TED PRESTON(hands moving along the console): Yes. The lights left a trail of subspace dust for some reason.

COMMANDER BORTH: Okay move forward to orbit the planet Mister Preston.

TED PRESTON: Aye Sir.

The ship goes into a stationary orbit around the planet.

COMMANDER BORTH: Scan the planet for the Captain's communicator.

Scanning begins as the crew searches for their Captain. After awhile something is picked up.

COMMANDER BORTH(beginning to get to his feet.): Send a Team down to the surface. Find out where the captain is. We can get better readings from the surface of the captain's whereabouts. Ted, you, Feraga, and Zun. Come with me.

TED, FERAGA, and ZUN TOGETHER: Aye sir.

The four heads for the Transporter Room where they are beamed on to the planet. In the middle of a regular Garden of Eden. Feraga, holding a small box-like device begins moving it around scanning for the captain's communicator signal. The three males with her wait for her to complete her scan.

FERAGA(looks up from the device.): I'm getting a reading over this way.(she points toward the same direction Shirleen and Zuzan had gone not so long ago.)

The four follow Feraga as she takes the lead in the search.

FAR UNDERGROUND

in a strange small lab-like room, Shirleen is bound by a pair of shackles that are attached to the table she is laying on. Shirleen opens her eyes and looks around. She sees Zuzan with another group wearing white. They begin coming over to her as Shirleen quickly closes her eyes.

Zuzan and the white dressed beings come over to the table where Shirleen is laying. One of the white dressed being reaches over with a clawed hand and removes Shirleen's com badge. It places it on a strange looking glass-like table. Another white dressed being takes up another small rectangular shaped box and moves it close to Shirleen's body. The little box gives off a little beep. The being turns to Zuzan and nods. Zuzan smiles waving the white clothed beings to leave.

Zuzan watches as the beings left and turns back to Shirleen.

ZUZAN(touching Shirleen on the side of the face.): You can open her eyes now. I know you're awake.

SHIRLEEN(opening her eyes to look at Zuzan.): Why are you doing this?

ZUZAN(sadly): I have no choice..... You see I'm dying.

SHIRLEEN(not knowing what to expect): Dying? You don't look it.

ZUZAN(sighs): I'm over a thousand years old. (before Shirleen can say anything more, Zuzan brought a hand over her face. Shirleen's is unable to keep her eyes open. Then they closed.) I'm sorry Captain, but I have no choice. I need a heir and you're it. Your calmness in battle. Your ability to....(stop)

Zuzan steps back as his hands begins glowing a bright silver white color.

WITH COMMANDER BORTH, TED, FERAGA, AND ZUN

FERAGA(looking at her scanner before turning to the others): Commander, the reading is coming from below us now....

COMMANDER BORTH: What are you talking about? Underground. How can that be?

FERAGA: I don't know.

Suddenly, a small twinkling light appears before them. The four pulls out their phasers aiming at the little light. Suddenly, the light disappears revealing a small child. She moves over to the four in curiousity.

CHILD(after her examination of the four): You looking for woman who was here?

COMMANDER BORTH: Woman. Was she wearing clothes like the ones we're wearing?

The little girl nods. Comander Borth places his weapon back and approaches the child.

COMMANDER BORTH: You know where she is?

The little girl only nods. Then she begins to move forward. Turning around and not seeing the four following her, she indicates with a hand that they follow. The four follow.

Following the child until they come to a small hole. The child points at the hole.

COMMANDER BORTH: Is the Captain down there?

The child only nods. The four enter the hole. It is semi dark but they keep going.

BACK WITH SHIRLEEN AND ZUZAN

A beam of silver light coming from Zuzan's hands strike at Shirleen until the light disappears from Zuzan's hands. He drops his hands.

ZUZAN: Complete. The power transfer is complete. The captain here will not know about the until there comes a time for her to use it.

VOICE TO THE LEFT OF ZUZAN: Get away from the captain!

Zuzan looks over there and saw Commander Borth, Ted Preston, Zun, and Feraga. Each are holding phasers on him while looking over at the captain still bound.

COMMANDER BORTH: Free her!

Zuzan reaches over and releases the shackles but Shirleen doesn't awaken. Commander Borth steps over to her and lifts her from the table as Feraga takes up the com badge.

ZUZAN: Take her away. Your communicators will work now.

COMMANDER BORTH(tapping his com device): Omega, five to beam up.

VOICE ON THE COM DEVICE: Aye Commander.

The transporter transports the group back on the ship leaving Zuzan alone.

ZUZAN(under his breath): I did the right thing with the power transfer to the Captain. They will have need of it while in this part of space. Though it will put them in danger more often than not.

BACK ON THE SHIP, IN SICKBAY

Shirleen opens her eyes to see her First Officer and the Doctor, TAYLOR SHORUN. She sits up.

SHIRLEEN: What? What happened?

COMMANDER BORTH: You're back on the Omega and off that planet.

Shirleen only nods as she gets up and dispite the protests from the doctor Shirleen heads for the bridge, Commander Borth with her.

ON THE BRIDGE

Shirleen and Borth are on the bridge when a warning alarm comes on. Ted looks at his console.

SHIRLEEN: What is it? What's going on?

TED PRESTON: That planet's about to explode.

SHIRLEEN: Then lets get out of here! Warp ten!

The engines come online as the ship speeds away. The planet explodes in a shower of light and debris. The ship is caught in the backlash of it.

Now, space is calm as the debris is no longer able to reach them. The starship moves calmly on.

ON THE STARSHIP

SHIRLEEN: Any sign of life out there?

TED PRESTON: Nothing could have survived that captain.

SHIRLEEN(sighs): Well, we will find a way home. No matter what. But until then we have to stay together. We have to bond as a crew. (after saying all that she turns to Ted) Warp eight.

The ship activates its engines and speeds away on a course for home, someday.
