ENTERING AZALEA TOWN
Three young people are seen. A young girl of nine years, a PICHU riding on one shoulder and a CHIKORITA in her arms. She's wearing a pink lined jacket. This girl is SURA NAMIRU from NEW BARK TOWN. With her are two others--LYLA and ROSS.
"This is great! But I wonder what type of pokemon does the gym leader have?" Sura had asked looking at the two while she walks.
"Well Bugsy, thats the gym leader here in Azalea, is said to have bug types," Lyla spoke.
"So, maybe my pichu's not a good idea to use against him here?" Sura questions.
"Maybe if your pichu's really strong he could probably get around the type difference. But maybe you should use ponyta or pidgey since hire and flying types are strong against bug types," Ross said.
"Oh," was all Sura could say.
FOLLOWING THE THREE FRIENDS
But away from where they could be seen or sensed is ALEX and ANITA from Team Rocket.
"So, they're heading for the gym here in Azalea. We can grab that chikorita and pichu for the boss then," Anita spoke.
"And how are we going to do that?" Alex asks.
"We dig a hole..." Anita begins.
Alex interrupts.
"Another hole? Didn't we try that already."
Frowning Anita gets angry. Then....BONG!
Alex finds himself on the ground, swirlies for eyes and Anita holding a large multicolored mallet in her hand and glaring daggers at him,
"Well we'll do it again! Let's get to it!" Anita declares shoving a shoval in his hands. They begin digging.
WITH SURA, ROSS AND LYLA
They walk in to town heading for the Pokemon Centre.
"I really should call Professor Elm. I haven't spoken to him since I started my Pokemon journey," Sura began, her gaze focused straight ahead. "Besides, he doesn't know about pichu and the rest of my pokemon."
"That is so cool! You actually know Professor Elm," Ross declared excited. Ross had only seen Professor Elm once and that from far away. Since then, Ross wanted to actually meet him face to face.
"What's he like Sura?" Ross questions. Sura looks at him and shrugs,
"He's nice though sometimes a bit absentminded because he's always doing his pokemon research," she answers.
"That is so cool! He knows Professor Oak since he studied with him," Ross said.
"Yes, I know," Sura replied.
The three friends reach the Pokemon Centre where they enter moving up to the counter where NURSE JOY moves up to them from her side of the counter.
"Hello Nurse Joy, can you take care of my pokemon?" Sura asked, her pokeballs in front of the girl. Pichu and chikorita are on the counter close to Sura.
"Of course," Nurse Joy said taking the pokeballs up on a tray. Chikorita and pichu with her.
Sura turns away from the counter moving over to the phones where she calls Professor Elm's number. Ross and Lyla are standing off to the side though Ross is closer, to better see Professor Elm.
Professor Elm's face appears on the screen looking at Sura and recognizing her.
"Oh. Hello there Sura. It's been a while since you called," Professor Elm responds.
"I know professor. I'm in Azalea Town now," she began.
In the bacground, Ross is excited at seeing Professor Elm again.
"Well, that is good Sura," Professor Elm declares. "Any new pokemon?"
"Yes. I got a pichu, a sentret, an eevee, an pidgey, and a ponyta," Sura answers and they're happiness in her voice.
"A ponyta? Thats a rare pokemon. You must be doing good," he said. Sura nods, then notices that Ross is practically bouncing beside her, in a fidge.
"Oh and I got some friends," Sure adds. One of Professor Elm's brows rise at that admission.
"Oh?"
"Uh huh," she answers then indicates for Lyla and Ross. "This is Lyla and Ross."
"Hi," Lyla said.
"Hello Lyla. Ross," Professor Elm responds. "I hope to see your pokemon soon Sura especially your ponyta."
"okay," Sura said.
However, Ross moves in close, smiling.
"Hello Professor Elm. I'm Ross. And I have been wanting to meet you in such a long time...," Ross began as Sura got up from the seat and Ross sat down in her place.
Sura moves over to the counter where Nurse Joy was.
"Your pokemon are as good as new," Nurse Jouy said handing Sura her pokeballs, chikorita and pichu moves to join their trainer.
"Thanks Nurse Joy," Sura said taking up her pokeballs and moving away back to the phones where Ross was still talking. "Um Ross, come on, let's go," Sura calls out.
Ross says his good-byes and moves to catch up with Sura and Lyla who were, even now beginning to move toward the door of the Pokemon Centre.
AT THE DOOR OF THE POKEMON CENTRE
As the three were about to leave the Pokemon Centre, the door crashes open.
CCRRASHH! OooF!
Something or rather someone collides with Sura. The two were knocked back. Ross was there to catch Sura but the newcomer was not so lucky. She lands back on her butt.
"Ow!"
Lyla reaches out a hand to help the newcomer to her feet.
"Hey, you okay there?" Lyla asks once the newcomer is back on her feet..
"Yes yes. I am fine. Thank you," the girl said in response.
The girl is a slim figured person with short green hair hanging to her shoulders and wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt. Sura notices that she is in some distress.
"Is anything wrong?" Sura asks. The girl looks at her seeing and hearing the concern in Sura's voice and face.
The girl took a deep breath before speaking,
"My pokemon were stolen!"
Ross, Lyla and Sura gasp as one at the girl's admission.
"How?" Lyla asks, staring wide eyed at the girl.
The girl, now looking at the three, took up her story.
"My name's Inari and I had just caught a Spinark with my first pokemon Poliwag when a man with a Hitmonchan came by. He challenged me and my pokemon to a duel and fled with my new spinarak."
All through the explination, the three listened then Sura spoke,
"We'll help you Inari, to find your pokemon."
Inari stares wide eyed at Sura, who has a determined look on her face. Sura didn't like it when people steal others' pokemon and would do anything to help to return those pokemon to their rightful trainers.
"Thank you," was all Inari said. Ross and Lyla nods. A smile peeks out from the sadness. The four leave the Pokemon Centre and heads to the last place Inari was when her pokemon was stolen.
OUTSIDE THE POKEMON CENTRE
Ross, Lyla and Sura look at Inari.
"Can you show us where you battled?" Ross asks. Inari nods moving away from the Pokemon Centre further in to the center of the town.
The four arrive behind a building with a grass lawn where Inari turns to face the three.
"It was here," she said. Sura's pichu leaps from its place to move around in search. Sura joins her pokemon while Lyla and Ross search close by with Inari.
Sura and pichu are separated from the others, finding themselves alone down another grass filled area. Sura looks this way and that searching before looking at her pokemon.
"Pichu, which way do we go now? We have to find the others."
"Pi pichu." The Pichu began moving forward to their left. Sura follows at a run.
"Pichu, wait up!" Sura calls out.
The two moves on together. They had been walking for a while when a male type voice yells, in a deep mean voice,
"HEY KID, WE FIGHT!"
Sura spins around to see a tall chunky man with unruly black hair and wearing a pair of dark brown trousers with black boots. Next to him, standing like a statue is an Hitmonchan. Sura and pichu had found the thief!
"We fight. Now!" he yells turning bright-red in the face.
Sura frowns at that before speaking,
"You have pokemon that don't belong to you. Give them back!"
"No! They're mine. And so will yours be." He states turning to look at his Hitmonchan, "Get that pichu!"
Now Sura knew that under normal circumstances her pichu's powers would be ineffective but Sura had been working with her pokemon who had grown a lot stronger since then, that the little electrical mouse could take down a rock, ground, and fighting type pokemon. The man had no idea of that though but he was about to find out.
Pichu only stands there, waiting for the Hitmonchan. There's a grin on the man's face realizing that he's going to win the match but that changes when the pichu leaps in the air and lands on Hitmonchan's back, its cheek pouches flashing brightly. Sura smiles as her pichu does this, right before the electrical mouse lets Hitmonchan have it.
Hitmonchan reels before falling on its face, unconscious. The man scrapes his mouth off the ground in shock...
.... Right before recieving an Thundershock from pichu. He drops his stolen pokballs and runs off screaming.
"WHAAAAAAA!"
Sura picks up the pokeballs and moves to look for Inari, Lyla and Ross....
STANDING OUTSIDE THE AZALEA TOWN GYM
The three friends are leaving, after Sura's victory against the gym leader Bugsy.
FLASHBACK
"You here to challenge the leader for a HiveBadge?" Bugsy has asked as the three enters the gym.
"Yeah I am," Sura said.
"Pi pichu."
Bugsy stares at her for a while before he nods,
"Then lets do this. Go Kakuna!"
Sura nods too also tossng out a pokeball,
"Pidgey, I choose you!"
"Kakuna string shot!"
"Pidgey gust attack!"
....Five gust attack later, Kukuna has been rendered unconscious.
"Hm your pidgey is indeed powerful and its gust attack in particular was devastating. But now, its time to really get serious, so..." Bugsy declares as he took up another pokeball. "Go Scyther!"
Sura nodded at that, "I knew that would be next so,...Go Ponyta!"
"That would have been a good choice if I had not trained my scyther to protect itself so," Bugsy began, "Scyther Fury Cutter."
Scyther moves in to use its attack as Sura's ponyta watches,
"Ponyta Fire Cloud!" Sura directs. With a loud neigh, the flames at ponyta's mane, in a few places, began to smoke and smolder. the smoke was the same color as ponyta's mane and tail.
Bugsy watches with shock. He had never heard of this attack and didn't know what to make of it either.
Lyla and Ross, watching from the sidelines on Sura's side, knew what was going to happen since they were around Sura when the girl and her ponyta worked to perfect it.
The Fire Cloud moves over to engulf the scyther. Before being completely engulfed, there was such a comical expression on its face.
"Ponyta, Fire Spray!" Sura directs. Ponyta neighs loudly as it is engulfed in a corona of flame. Bugsy has a bad feeling about this.
Then small darts of flame strike scyther....
The fire cloud clears... to reveal scyther unconscious and ponyta the victor...
END FLASHBACK
"You were great Sura! Ponyta's attack was great!" Lyla declares as the three friends had left the gym following Sura's recieving the Hivebadge from Bugsy and making a new friend in him.
"Thanks guys. I guess we move on to Goldenrod City," Sura replied.
"Yep," Ross spoke up. Lyla nods in agreement.
SOMEWHERE UNDER THE AZALEA GYM
Alex and Anita finally dig up to the surface--right in the middle of some caterpies, weedles, and other pokemon in the gym.
"We're in trouble!" they say together as the pokemon attack.
A loud explosion is heard, the Alex and Anita is sent into the air looking like a couple of dark spots from the attacks,
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S GOING INTO ORBIT AGAINNN!"
