HEADING FOR AZALEA TOWN
our three friends stop for a rest as they have entered a clearing in the forest next to a swiftly moving stream. ROSS begins cooking, LYLA sits on a tree stump watching him in silence, and SURA is seated a bit farther from the two, a twig in hand and her pichu at her side. Sura is drawing something in the dirt thoughtfully. Pichu watches her. Things are pretty silent for a while before pichu's ears move forward, detecting a rustling off to the left of them.
"Pi?" Pichu turns its head quickly causing Sura to blink, her thoughtful mood gone at this turn of events as her pichu continues looking around for the source.
"What is it Pichu?" Sura asks in a soft voice. "What do you hear?"
"Pich!" says Pichu and takes off following the rustling.
Sura jumps to her feet in pursuit of her pokemon and calling out,
"Pichu! Wait up! Where are you going?"
Sura runs after her pichu through the underbrush and calling out. Sura chases her friend pretty far intil the girl stops, staring. Ahead of her, what made the girl stop were the many pikachus together. The pikachus saw pichu who had kept running up to them and clustered around the pichu, seemingly in protection. Sura takes one step holding up he pokedex at the pikachus.
**PIKACHU THE ELECTRIC MOUSE POKEMON. THESE POKEMON CAN ATTACK USING ELECTRIC ATTACKS. TOGETHER THEY CAN POWER UP AN ENTIRE CITY.**
"Oh cool!" Sura gasps out. Then she sighs watching her pichu among the wild pikachus, playing among them. She also notices that all of the pikachus are playing and watching over pichu, making sure the pokemon doesn't get hurt. Sura sighs again as she watches this display.
Maybe Pichu belongs with them. Looks like they can teach pichu more than I. her thoughts turn.
Close by, but far away, Sura sits down in the grass watching. She remembers those times, she and pichu were together.
SURA'S FLASHBACKS WITH PICHU
Sura's first meeting with pichu at the Cherrygrove City Pokemon Center. Then, all the times they had after that. Those times when pichu defeated Team Rocket, the gym battles and their journey.
END FLASHBACKS
Sura sighs, at that point.
"pi pich!" says Sura's pichu who had come up to the girl as she reminsed. Sura looks at her friend. With pichu are a few of the pikachus.
"Pi?" Pichu cocks its head in question.
"Oh, I'm sorry pichu. I'm just thinking," she speaks up.
"Pichu pi," Pichu nuzzles the girl.
"Sura! Sura, where are you?!" two voices come to her and Pichu's ears. The two turn to see Ross and Lyla coming out of the brush. They stop as they see the pikachus crowding around their friend and her pichu.
"Oh! Whoa! Pikachus," Lyla is astonished. "But how?"
"This is where they live. I think," Sura says, her pichu leaps in the girl's lap with a soft,
"Pich."
"Pika pi. Pika chu." one of the pikachus say. They seem to be agitated before looking over at Sura and Pichu. The group of pikachus gather around the two, ushering Sura and Pichu deeper in the forest. Lyla and Ross try to follow but are prevented by more of the pikachus who then disappear.
IN THE OFFICES OF GIOVANNI
the leader of Team Rocket is seated before a desk, petting a Persian.
"I am constantly surrounded by incompetance. First, there's Jessie and James and now Alex and Anita. Hm," he mutters.
Continuing to think about these four, Giovanni is unaware of anything until the door of his office bursts open and a white coated scientist enters. In his hand are some papers that he continues waving.
"Sir, we've discovered some power readings!" the scientist begins.
"Well, what is it?!" Giovanni questions staring full at the Rocket scientist.
The scientist sets the papers on the desk before Giovanni before beginning to explain,
"Sir, for the past five days we have been registering some new power readings. These readings are somewhere in Jolhto and they go from all forms of attacks. Psychic, fire, ice, you name it, its there."
Giovanni leans back, one hand on his Persian.
"Alert all Team Rockets out in the field. Let them know that I want this new---pokemon," he says.
"Sir, the readings don't say its a pokemon," the Rocket scientist responds. This gets a reaction from Giovanni who sits forward in his seat.
"A human?" he questions. There's shock and wonder in his voice at this. "I must know how this person can do this. Let all of Team Rocket know about this. I want this special human with the ability to use pokemon attacks," Giovanni says.
"Yes sir. Team Rocket shall be aprised," the scientist nods.
"Good. Now leave."
The scientist nods again, leaving Giovanni alone.
"A person who has the power to duplicate a pokemon's attacks will make a fine addition to my organization. And problably put me one step closer to my plans."
WITH SURA AND PICHU
the pikachus have brought girl and pokemon to yet another clearing. Filled with flowers and lots of grass and bug pokemon. Even flying pokemon are out and about in the trees. Some pidgeys and spearows and a few Noctowls. Sura's spellbound as she sees the many different pokemon all together, doing their own things not even attacking. Its all very happy.
"Ah! Oh!" she sighs staring around her.
The pikachus move up to the girl.
"Pika pi," they say.
Sura looks at them as her pichu, leaping out of her arms to speak to the pikachus. There's a lot of paws moving at such.
"Where are we?" she asks, still looking around at the different grass, bug, and flying pokemon around her. "Whoa," she mutters softly as a feeling of peace overwhelms her. Pichu, standing next to her is leastwise effected by the beauty. Over to the front left of them is a venusaur, calmly standing there. Numerous ivysaurs are close by. Wide-eyed Sura is silent, just standing where she is, the beauty continueing to be reflected.
"Sura! Sura, where are you!" two voices calls out, coming to Sura's ears. She turns around as Ross and Lyla comes up to stand next to her.
"How'd you find me? What?" Sura questions staring at her friends.
"We followed you of course," Ross declares smiling.
"But how? The pikachus were leading us," she said.
"Yes and they left tracks. Lyla and I were able to follow them."
Sura listens. There's a smile at her mouth at the way her friends were able to find her and pichu. Now, things are quiet as Lyla and Ross finally took in their surroundings. They too are awestruck.
"Will you look at all the bug and grass pokemon," Lyla gasps out. She's looking around, eyes wide.
"Yes and look! There's a venusaur and ivysaur," Ross declares in a hushed voice.
"Pika." one of the pikachus say having moved from the group to stand close. Sura's pichu looks at the pikachus.
"Pi chu. Pi pi. Chu." waving his paws in the air. Sura looks down as her pichu and the pikachus are speaking.
Wonder what they're talking about?she thinks as the two electric pokemon talk together.
Then the pikachu takes off along with its companions. After a little while, pichu takes off after them.
"Um, pichu! Where you going?" Sura calls out, worried and a bit scared that she's going to lose her friend.
Pichu stops, turns his head, shaking it. Sura got the point. Her pichu needs to do this by himself. The girl nods and watches as her friend turns back and moves off after the pikachus.
"Don't worry Sura, pichu'll be back," Lyla said, having followed the girl. She had seen pichu going off with the pikachus and had noticed Sura's movement after. Now, Lyla stands beside her with a smile.
"You look worried and kind of down, Sura? Don't worry, pichu will come back. Trust me."
"You think so?" Sura asks dubiously.
Lyla is silent for a while, looking to where pichu had disappeared. She looks back at the younger girl, taking her hand and pulling Sura away. Ross had a pot of warming stew waiting.
"Come on Sura. I'm sure Ross has the stew waiting and ready for us," Lyla spoke causing Sura to blink and move away, following the tugging on her hand.
Away from the flowers, Ross had set up the stewpot where a fire danced merrily. The two girls came over and sat. Ross looks up.
"You back?" he asks handing the girls cups filled with some stew.
"Yes," Lyla speaks after taking the cup from him.
Sura is handed hers in silence but Ross looks at her intently then over at Lyla who shakes her head. The three friends have their meal in silence.
THAT NIGHT
with the three friends in their sleeping bag asleep. The stars shining brightly above them, Noctowl flying around. But Sura's wide awake. Laying on her back in her sleeping bag, hand folded under her head, she looks up at the night sky. It is a beautiful night as she watches the twinkling of the stars, but the girl doesn't notice the beauty of the stars. Her attention is focused on pichu.
Will Pichu be all right with those wild pikachus? Should I leave my best friend with them? Maybe they'll do a better job than I ever will. I just don't know. such thoughts kept rolling through her mind.
Sura gets out of her sleeping bag and quietly moves away from her still sleeping friends, going off in the general direction Pichu had gone.
A CLEARING DEEPER IN THE FOREST WITH A BUBBLING STREAM CLOSE BY
Sura enters. Her gaze, at first, is on the stream.
"Ah," she softly gasps. The stream is beautiful full of moonlight shining on the surface and making it seem as if diamonds are in the water.
"Pika pika. Pikachu pi," came to Sura's ears. She turns her head and saw the pikachus.
"Pi pich. Pich pichu," from the very center of the pikachus. Sura recognizes that voice. It's her friend Pichu.
Pichu is in the center, seeming to be arguing with the pikachus, shaking its head vigorously and moving its paws around above its head. Sura's confused by all this until she looks over to the right of the group of pikachus. Her eyes widen at that.
"Whoa!" she gasps out.
Off to the right are a lot of pichus. Many of them are in the stages of evolution. Now, Sura understands. The pikachus want her own pichu to evolve but her pichu didn't want to evolve. Thats what the argument is all about.
"Pi pich!" Pichu vigorously shakes its head and pointing at the group.
"Pi pikachu!" the lead pikachu exclaims nodding its head. The other pikachus nod back in response.
Sura could take no more. She moves over to her pichu, standing close.
"You can't force pichu to evolve if he doesn't want to," the girl declares.
The pikachus look up at the girl before the leader spoke up, paws moving in the air.
"Pi! Pika pika! Pi pikachu!"
Sura frowns but she gets the gist of what the pikachu is saying.
"Pichu should not be forced to evolve if he doesn't want to. No matter if he should evolve, I'll always be there for him."
"Pich," Pichu nuzzles against the girl. The pikachus nod in agreement.
"Pi pikachu." the lead pikachu says nodding to the pichu who looks at him.
"Pich!"
Now the pikachus move away toward the pichus. The moon high in the sky as Sura sits down and watches.
Sometime that night, Ross and Lyla joins Sura as the young girl's pichu runs over to the other pichus and pikachus. Lyla lays a gentle hand on Sura's shoulder.
"Don't worry Sura, pichu will evolve in his own time and nobody can change that."
Sura looks over at Lyla, her eyes sad, "I guess." Then she brightens. "At least we'll still be together, no matter if pichu evolves."
"Thats the spirit! Look at the bright side of all this." Ross exclaims, smiling at her.
WATCHING THE POKEMON
the three friends smile with good humor. Sura's pichu is with the other pichu. The moon shines on them as some of the pichus evolve into pikachus though Sura's friend doesn't. It continues to fight its evolution.
"Now! Will you look at that! All those new pikachus," Sura gasps stars in her eyes.
"Yes, its really great," Rosss is practically speechless as he watches.
Lyla only nods, struck dumb with fascionation.
Suddenly, smoke rolls over them.
"What! Whats going on?!" Sura exclaims in question as she looks around for the source of the smoke.
"Ha! Ha! Haa!" two voices, a male and a female are heard as the dramatic music is heard. The three friends have large sweatdrops at their heads.
"You got some trouble!" the female voice comes first, from within the smoke.
"And now make it double!" come the male voice.
"To infect the world with devastation!" the smoke clears, revealing Anita first.
"And get it ready for integration!" more smoke clears revealing Alex.
"To Trample the way through truth and love!" Anita says, turning her head to look at them.
"By stomping the might from the stars above!" Alex declars raising his head now.
A big red letter R appears on a backyard of spring flowers as Alex and Anita pose.
"Anita!"
"Alex!"
"Team Rocket! Knocking good out at the speed of light!" they say together. "You better surrender or prepare to fight!"
Their Hitmonchan steps in front of the two, strikes forward in its punching pose at the same time,
"Hitmonchan!"
The three friends groan throughout the motto but become ready afterward.
"What do you want Team Rocket?" Sura asks, frowning at the two.
"Just you...." Anita declares first. Alex whispers something to her. She frowns then nods, "And your pichu."
Ross steps forward beside Sura, though more in front of the girl in protection.
"Well, you won't get either!" he declares.
Anita and Alex laugh at him.
"You think you can stop us!? Well, you can't," Alex yells out.
A net descends over the wild pikachus and pichus that haven't evolved, trapping the pokemon within its confines.
"One down," Alex laughs as another net above Sura and her pichu friend starts to descend but Sura, having seen what happened to the wild pokemon already in the net, dives to the right, right out of the way of the net. Her pichu lands beside the girl.
"Arg, she got away!" Anita exclaims then turns on Alex. "Do something!"
"I am, Anita," he said, taking up a pokeball and tossing it out.
"Go Pinsir!" he exclaims. "Twin Needle attack!"
Anita nods at Alex's choice as she takes up her pokeball and tosses it out, shouting at the same time,
"Go Ryhorn! Take Down Attack!"
Alex's pinsir attacks Sura's pichu at the same time as Anita's ryhorn. Ross and Lyla are shocked but that disappears as the two take up one of their pokeballs apiece and tosses them out.
"Drowzee--Go! Psychic attack!" this coming from Ross.
"Go Wooper! Water gun attack!" Lyla shouts.
Drowzee and Wooper come out of their pokeballs. Sura stares at Drowzee and Wooper then takes out her pokedex, pointing it first at Drowzee.
**THE PSYCHIC POKEMON. IT PUTS ENEMIES TO SLEEP THEN EATS THEIR DREAMS.**
"Wow!" Sura exclaims. She points her pokedex at Wooper now.
**WOOPER THE WATER POKEMON. IT HAS A POWERFUL WATER GUN ATTACK.**
Wooper and Drowzee attack Alex and Anita's pokemon. Sura blinks, putting her pokedex away to look at her pichu.
"Okay pichu, let's deal with them and save those pokemon!"
"Pi pi chu." Pichu says, its cheeks sparkling.
Sura, with pichu beside her, cheeks sparkling, steps foreward. Sura's own hands begins to sparkle as well. Alex and Anita notices the two as a strange not so good feeling comes upon them.
"You know Anita, I think we're going to get our butts kicked again," Alex said.
"Not thiss time! Hitmonchan, Fire Punch!" Anita exclaims indicating to Hitmonchan.
"Hit Mon Chan!" the punching pokemon exclaims rushing at Sura and Pichu, its fist enveloped in fire.
"Sura!" Lyla yells.
"Pichu! Look out!" Ross exclaims.
At the same time, Hitmonchan reaches Sura and pichu, it stops. Neither Sura nor pichu are there. With gasps from Team Rocket, Ross, and Lyla, Sura had grabbed her pichu and quickly got out of the way. The girl was practically a blur at that point. She sets pichu on its feet and nods.
"Pichu, DOUBLE THUNDER STORM!" she exclaims.
The two let off the attack together striking Team Rocket, Hitmonchan, Ryhorn, and Pinsir. They scream as they are lit up. Then an explosion and....
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET BLASTING OFF AGAINNN---!" Team Rocket said as they're blasted off and become distant dots in the sky.
Sura move over to the net and sent a tendril of electricity at the net. The net fries as the pokemon are free.
The pikachus move up to Sura's pichu with Sura, Ross, and Lyla watching. Rosss and Lyla's pokemon have been returned to their pokeballs. Sura turns away and starts walking away. Ross and Lyla caught up to her.
"What's wrong Sura?" Ross asks her.
"Why are you leaving Pichu?" Lyla also asks.
Sura looks at the two, then back at pichu among the wild pokemon and back to the two.
"I think pichu belongs here. He should be with his own kind. They can help him become a pikachu." she answers tearfully.
"I don't think so Sura. Don't be like that...," Lyla's voice trails in to silence. Ssura looks up at Lyla and Ross but they're not looking at her. They're looking at something behind them. Sura turns.
"PICH!" her pichu exclaims running at the girl. Then with a bound jumps in Sura's arms.
"Pi.... Pichu? I thought you wanted to stay with them?" Sura asks bemused.
Ross, looking at the two, then smiling, said,
"I think Pichu would benefit more from staying with you."
"I agree, Sura. Look at how strong he is now. With your training him, pichu can only get stronger," Lyla agreed.
"Pich!" Pichu nods in agreement.
Sura wipes the tears from her eyes, noddng,
"Then let's go!"
"PI!"
