HEAD FOR AZALEA TOWN
our three friends are resting now. Night is beginning to fall. SURA NAMURA moves away from her friends.
"Hey Sure, where you heading for?" Lyla looks up in question.
Sura stops and turns back, "I just want to work some more with my pokemon."
Lyla, a short blue spiky haired twelve year old girl stares at Sura asks,
"You mean more of those new attacks like Thunder Storm?"
"That, yeah. And more," Sura, a nine year old girl with long black hair and green eyes agrees.
"How?" Ross, thirteen years with orange curly hair and brown eyes asks, speaking up from preparing their meal as he now usually does.
Sura shrugs looking over at Ross, a slight turning of her head,
"I've found that one can teach pokemon in newer attacks because.... well, because they have the capibility to learn them," she stops not really knowing the how, only that it seem to work.
Lyla stares at Sura in understanding before sighing, "You don't really know how, do you Sura?"
"Well..., no." Sura chuckles self consciously, hand at the back of her head. Ross and Lyla fall over.
"I'll be back though," the nine year old said. Lyla and Ross nods.
Sura with her pichu perched on the girl's shoulder begins walking away from the campsite.
"There's got to be somewhere to get in some training, Pichu. I want you guys to be prepared to battle for our second gym badge," Sura mutters.
"Pich pi chu."
WALKING A BIT MORE
Sura comes to a clearing where she stops, looking around. Pichu leaps to the ground to stand beside the girl. The place the two had come to is a clearing where trees are all around in a large ring. Large enough for Sura's purposes. She stops in the very center of the clearing(or as close to the clearing as she can get).
"Okay everybody! Let's go!" Sura exclaims letting out all her pokemon.
They come out of their pokeballs before the girl.
"You guys ready to get in some more training?" Sura calls out in question to her pokemon. They nod.
"Pich."
"Chika."
"Sen tret."
"Eevee."
"Neigh."
"Pidge."
Now, the six pokemon are looking forward to this since learning those newer stronger attacks that Sura taught then, they're curious as to what else the girl can teach them.
Since teaching her pokemon those nw attacks, Sura had been wondering, maybe hoping if she could learn them. She knew that the pokemon could learn something new but could she. The girl didn't even know that much about herself so as her pokemon starts practicing, improving their attacks Sura watches closely, to see how its done by the pokemon.
WATCHING PICHU FIRST
as it practices on Thunder Storrm, Sura realizes that pichu's cheek pouches are the conductor for that power. The girl looks at her hands wondering.
I can concentrate the power through my hands. If I had the power, she thinks to herself and sighing.
Sura closes her eyes realizing that SHE of all people couldn't do the kinds of attacks her pokemon friends could do.
Then, a memory comes to mind. That all life starts from a single state and when one dies that energy is released in the Earth. Sura raises her head at that.
Perhaps.... I can do the same attacks as pokemon she thinks.
Watching her pichu practice its Thunder Storm attack, the tips of Sura's own fingers begins giving off sparks. Her thoughts so focused on her pokemon that for a few seconds she is unaware. She happens to look at her hand, noticing the sparks.
Whoa! Now what? Maybe I can learn my pokemon friends' attacks.
"Hey pichu, can you come over here?" Sura calls to her pokemon.
Pichu looks over at Sura and moves to stand before her. Sura shows the pokemon the sparks from her hand.
"Pich?" Pichu questions pointing a paw at Sura's sparkling hand. Sura understands that gesture and answers,
"yeah I know. Pichu can you show me your Thunder Storm? I want to see if I can learn it myself."
"Pi."Pichu nods.
Now Pichu does the Thunder Storm attack with Sura closely watching. After awhile of close scrutny, Sura decides to give it a try herself.
After many tries, nothing happens. Sura is baffled. Everything was--is perfect except she's unable to do the attack.
What's wrong? I'm doing everything right but I can't release it! Wait! Perhaps.... her thought trails off.
She growls as the sparks continue building, getting bigger,
"Thunder...!"
Then thrusting hr hands up above her head, releasing the electricity while completing the attack at the same time,
"....Storm!"
Electric rains showers the ground before Sura and pichu. They watch as the showers continue for a few more seconds then stop.
"All Right!! I did it Pichu!" Sura exclaims picking up her pichu and dancing exuberantly with him.
"Pich!" Pichu is just as excited.
Now, things get fairly easy for Sura, as far as learning her pokemon's attacks. Together, Sura trains her pokemon in new attacks as well as learning them herself. As the Sun begins to set, Sura recalls her pokemon, pichu leaps up on her shoulder as Sura returns to her friends where Ross hands her a plate of fruit. Lyla is already seated on a log from her plate as Sura comes to sit next to her.
"It was okay. Pichu and the others learned another new attack," Sura declares tossing another slice of fruit in her mouth. Sura didn't tell Lyla about herself learning her pokemon's attacks. Since training with her pokemon, Sura finds herself understanding what the pokemon go through. She feels closer to her pokemon after the training session with them.
"You seem different Sura. Is there anything wrong?" Ross questions coming over and sitting next to the two girls. He had been watching Sura and that there was something different about her.
"No Ross. Should there be?" Sura inquires.
"No. It's just that there seems to be something," his voice trails off. They continue their meal.
THAT NIGHT
with Ross and Lyla sound asleep in their sleeping bags, Sura had woke up and with her pichu moves away to wonder and maybe get in some more training.
Sura and her pichu stand side to side.
"You ready Pichu to try that new double attack?" Sura asks looking at her pokemon.
"Pich." Pichu nods. The two stand side by side for a few minutes then Sura nods to pichu. Electrical sparks appear, at Sura's hands and pichu's cheek pouches that grows.
"Double---Thunder---!" Sura begins then thrusting her arms up releasing the electricity while at the same time finishing the attack,
"--Storm!"
"Pi---CHUUU!"
The twin storm rains down leaving bits of scorched grass before stopping. Sura grins.
"All right!" she exclaims, her pichu is also excited.
"Pi Pich!"
Sura looks at her pichu still grinning,
"Ready to get some rest, Pichu?"
"Pich!" Pichu says, grinning back, looking up at her.
"We can come back early tomorrow and train some more, okay."
"Pi."
Sura nods, heading back to their camp. Climbing in her sleeping bag thats between Ross and Lyla's, Sura lays down and goes to sleep. Pichu joins his trainer in the bag.
NEXT MORNING
Ross and Lyla woke up to discover Sura among the missing.
"Hey! Where'd Sura go?" Lyla wonders in question and loudly.
Ross shrugs deciding not to answer. Sura and her pokemon were probably off training or something. He goes about preparing their breakfast in silence.
Lyla looks around once more before making the decision to look for the nine year old. She looks over at Ross,
"I'll be back. I'm going to look for Sura."
"All right," Ross sighs. Lyla nods moving away from her, in her search for Sura to fix breakfast.
THAT SAME CLEARING FROM YESTERDAY
Lyla hears sounds of fighting. Wondering, she steps in to view where she saw Sura's pokemon. Each pokemon are practicing their newest attacks. Lyla is shocked, for what she's seeing are what seems to be new attacks. Her awe is so great that at first, she fails to notice Sura. After a while, her eyes widen in shock. Again.
Instea of Sura standing to one side training her pokemon, the nine year old is with them, working with the pokemon. The nine year old is facing off against Pichu. Then they let loose with similar attacks.
"PICH---CHUUUU!"
"THUNDER---STORM!"
The two attacks strike, mingling as one for a long time then hitting pichu and Sura. Lyla gasps as the two are struck, worried that pichu and Sura are hurt. The attacks looked really strong to Lyla's eyes. Lyla gasps again, this time in shock as she saw Sura and pichu just shrug off the attack and continue on.
Oh wow! Sura and Pichu, how'd they do that?! I've never even seen somebody copying a pokemon's attack much less take that much electrical power.
Both Sura and her pokemon knew that Lyla was watching but didin't want to stop their training. Each pokemon had been taught yet another new move by Sura earlier before she and Pichu started their own training.
After awhile, Sura and her pokemon stop. Sura returns her pokemon to their pokeballs, Pichu on the girl's shoulder as she moves over to Lyla.
"How'd you do that?" Lyla asks still in shock at Sura's display of doing pokemon moves. Sura only shrugs,
"Just found out basically."
"Oh...kay," Lyla said a sweatdrop appearing on the side of her head.
Sura and Pichu moves over to Lyla, standing next to the other girl now. Sura's other pokemon join their trainer.
"Well, I'm ready for something to eat," Sura declares exhuberatatly.
Lyla smiles, answering, "Come on then. I think Ross finished making breakfast."
"Yes!" Sura exclaims.
"Pich!"
Sura follows Lyla back to camp where Ross doles out the food.
Sura practically scarfs down her breakfast while Ross and Lyla watch, slowly chewing even savoring theirs.
"So tell me Sura, can I learn to do those attacks like you?" Lyla questions. Tossing another piece of fruit in her nouth and chewing, Sura is silent for a few minutes. She swallows and replies,
"Well, I don't know it might be possible."
"Can you teach me?" Lyla asks.
"Well.... I don't know." Sura says dubiously. She looks over at Lyla for a long while. Lyla's face was a mixture of pleading and something else. Sura sighs.
"I guess I can at least try," the nine year old declares.
Lyla perks up, her eyes shining. Ross comes over noting her happy face and wonders about that.
"Why are you so happy, Lyla?" he asks.
Lyla looks up at Ross from the other side of their fire that's now nothing more than enbers.
"I'm gonna learn pokemon attacks," she declares. Ross is shocked. What Lyla was saying is an impossibility. Only pokemon could learn pokemon attacks, not people. Lyla saw the looks of disbelief and skeptism appearing on his face. She sensed that he believed what he was saying. Given their present circumstances, Lyla would have thought the same thing, if she hadn't seen Sura perform those moves not so long ago.
"It's entirely possible. Sura did them," Lyla said. Ross looks over at the nine year old who continues to eat. Her pokemon, gathered around the girl also eating.
Sura felt Ross' curious gaze on her and looks at him.
"What?" she asks to frankly curious looks he keeps giving her. Ross blinks quickly, not realizing that Sura had even said anything.
"Nothing," he said instead.
Sura shrugs as she finishes her breakfast. Her pokemon stare at their trainer who got to her feet and began moving away, heading back to training. The pokemon follow with Ross and Lyla watching their departure. They look at each other before they follow after Sura.
IN THE MEANTIME
Alex and Anita, members of the infamous Team Rocket have been walking all night in their search for rare pokemon to steal. Now, they have plunked down on the group, dejected because they have no pokemon to present to the boss.
"That girl's pichu is strong, an extremely rare thing, and the Boss will love it," Alex declares to his partner.
"Not to mention all our debts being paid!" Anita exclaims. Then she looks around and at Alex. "Where are those twerps? We gotta find them, then steal that girl's pichu for the boss."
"Don't worry Anita, we'll find those twerpy kids," Alex reassures her.
Anita perks up so fast that Alex falls over on his butt at Anita's exhuberance.
"Er...Anita?"
"We'll find those kids! And pichu!" she yells out.
"Yeah!" Alex exclaims picking up on Anita's exhuberance.
WITH SURA AND HER POKEMON
who're in training once more. Even Sura is training WITH her pokemon. Ross and Lyla watch, Ross in shock, Lyla with a grin.
"You know, Sura's pokemon are pretty powerful and Sura's up there too," Ross finds his voice, watching Sura and her pokemon. Lyla looks at him and nods. Even now, Lyla wonders how Sura could teach her pokemon those new moves. Lyla winces at the power Sura's pichu is displaying. That electric attack, looks like it can take down rock pokemon with ease. And the little Eevee. Who would've known that such a little pokemon could pack so much power.
SOMETIME LATER
Sura, with Pichu riding on her shoulder, Lyla, and Ross resting up, being comfortable.
"Soon as we rest up, I'll be ready to move on to the next gym for my second badge," Sura declares.
"Pich!" Pichu says from its perch.
"Thats a good idea," Lyla agrees. Ross nods but doesn't say anything.
Suddenly a large net falls, completely engulfing the three while at the same time they hear laughter, a male and a female laugh. Sura, Ross, and Lyla recognized it.
"You got some trouble!" female's voice begins.
"Team Rocket!!!"Ross, Lyla, and Sura exclaims in unison.
"Ahem!" male's voice and continues, "And now make it double!"
Over on the right, Anita makes her appearance frist, from behind a tree,
"To infect the world with devastation!"
Alex appears opposite Anita, arms crossed,
"And get it ready for integration!"
Anita raises her eyes, "To trample the way through truth and love!"
Alex raises his eyes, "By stomping the might from the stars above!"
Now, Alex and Anita look at the three,
"Anita!"
"Alex!"
They stand together now, pointing at the three,
"Team Rocket! Knocking good out at the speed of light!"
"You better surrender or prepare to fight!" they exclaim as Hitmonchan steps forward, striking a punching pose while at the same time,
"Hit--mon--chan!"
All through the motto Ross, Lyla, Sura, and pichu are sipping tea.
"You think they'll ever give up?" Lyla asks, taking a sip from her tea cup.
Sura doesn't even bother to look up as she answers,
"I'd just ignore them."
"Ignore us!" Anita yells in anger.
At the same time, a cage clangs down from somewhere above, effectively trapping the group, still in the net. Anita laughs at their predicament. Sura, Ross, and Lyla clutch the bars in their hands.
"You'll never get away with this!" Sura exclaims.
"Pich!" Pichu yells, also grasping the bars.
Anita laughs, "We have you! And your little pichu too."
Sura, staring at Alex and Anita, in silence,
Ah, we have to get out of this. But how? Sura thinks, still clutching the bars of the cage.
"Let us out of here!" Lyla yells.
Anita and Alex laugh.
"No way TWERP!" Anita says.
Sura balls her fists in anger, staring at Team Rocket still.
"You're going down!" Sura exclaims.
"Pi pich!" Pichu also exclaims still clutching the bars, its cheeks sparkling. Sura looks at her pichu,
"THUNDERSHOCK ATTACK!" Sura yells out.
"Piii----CHUUU!"
Pichu lets loose with a massive thundershock but instead of the attack striking Team Rocket, it strikes the three friends. Team Rocket laughs.
"Ha Ha Ha Ha Haa! Your pichu can't get us from within that cage...."
".... But pichu CAN get you," Alex complete Anita's sentence.
Sura raises her head to look at Team Rocket.
How to get out of this cage so pichu can attack? thinks. Then an idea forms. I've got it!
Sura gets to her feet, slowly, her pichu beside her.
"I don't think so, Team Rocket!" Sura declares. Her hands are behind her back, sparkling, as she converts the energy. Team Rocket stares at her.
"What are you talking about?" Alex asks in confusion.
"You're trapped in the electric proof cage," Anita declares.
"But not for long!" Sura said. Ross and Lyla moves away to the back of the cage noting the power in Sura's hand.
"Looks like Team Rocket's gonna fly soon," Ross whispers to Lyla. Lyla nods in agreement.
"Whatever are you two talking about? We're not going anywhere but your pichu's coming with us," Anita says.
Sura shakes her head, bringing her hand out from behind her back. Where there had been a ball of sparkling energy, there is a fireball.
"Wha?" Anita says in shock.
"What gives?" Alex joins Anita's.
"Oh nothing much. Fire Spray!"
Sura exclaims and sends the fireball up into the air where it breaks up and rains down.
"AAAHHH!!!!" Team Rocket shrieks as the fire spray hits them. The key to the cage flies out of Anita's hand, sailing over to Sura's, who catches it.
The spray ends as Sura unlocks the cage and steps out, Ross and Lyla step out too. Pichu moves up beside Sura. They're all looking at Team Rocket who're now singed and burned and staring at Sura in shock.
"H---How'd you do that?" Anita asks first.
"People c--can't do Pokemon attacks!" Alex said, eyes wide in shock. "Its impossible!"
"Okay.... Call me Impossible then," Sura begins. A ball of electric energy forming in the palm of Sura's hand. Team Rocket stare at Sura then at each other.
"Uh Anita, I think we should, uh leave," Alex says.
Sura looks over at her pichu and nods. The pokemon's cheek pouches sparkle and the electric energy in Sura's hand starts sparkling,
"Okay Pichu! Double Thunder Storm!"
"PII---CHUUUU!"
Electric shards rain down on Team Rocket.
"AAAHHHH!" they exclaim in unison.
Then, an explosion that sends Team Rocket flying.
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S GOING OFF AGAIN!!" they're voices are heard until they become distant dots in the sky.
"Wonder if Team Rocket will ever learn that they can't win?" Ross wonders looking over at Sura and Lyla, smiling.
"Nah!!!" the three said together.
"Pich!"
Gathering their things, the three continue on---to Azalea Town.
To Be Continued---
