WALKING ON THE ROAD HEADING FOR THE NEXT GYM CHALLENGE
SURA, ROSS, and LYLA have stopped. They are gathered around as Ross looks at their map while Sura and Lyla looks on at him.
"Well? You know where we are Ross?" Sura asks him.
"Pi pich," Sura's pichu says looking up at the three in question.
Ross, the map up before his face and shaking his head while muttering, "We couldn't gone back that way but it would've put us here..."
"Ross, do you even KNOW where we are? Are we lost?" Lyla asks on a sigh looking closer at the map.
Ross looks up from the map at Lyla, "Ah Lyla, we're not lost exactly...."
"What do you mean not lost exactly?" Sura questions him. The two girls stare at him for a long time waiting his answer.
"What I mean is, we're not lost exactly..." he pauses looking at the two with a rueful smile and a sweatdrop appearing at the back of his head.
"Yes? Yes?" the girls leaned forward in anticipation.
"we just don't know where we are." Ross finished, lauging self consciously, the sweatdrop now the size of a half his head.
"Oh!" the two girls said falling over.
"Ross! Surely YOU know the way!" Lyla asks in exclamation, regaining her feet faster than Sura and getting up in his face. Sura chuckles self consciously.
Then, a loud growling comes to their ears. It starts with pichu who moves its head to and fro looking for the source of the sound. Then pichu starts pulling on Sura's pants' leg getting her attention.
"What is it pichu?" Sura asks looking at her pokemon as the sound finally reaches the three friends. The three look at each other in perplexity.
"What was that?"!" Sura exclaims in question as her pichu now leaps up on her shoulder, "Pi!"
The three hear the growling again and following the sound, began to run now.
OPENING AMONG THE TREES
are a herd of Onix moving around. The three stop and stare. Its a beautiful sight. The onix moving around on their own, some butting heads and such.
"Oo! A whole herd of Onix," Lyla speaks.
"Pich." Pichu said from its perch on Sura's shoulder. Sura watches the onix for a long while before taking out her pokedex and pointing it at the Onix.
**ONIX, THE ROCK SNAKE POKEMON. ONIX'S BODY IS HARD AS ROCK AND CAN DIG THROUGH ROCK**
Sura stares at the herd of Onix with something akin to awe as she puts her pokedex away.
"Will you look at all those Onix?" Sura breaths in awe.
Suddenly, a massive explosion is heard and the Onix start fleeing.
"What's going on now? What was that explosion?" Lyla asks jumping at the sound.
The Onix continues to flee toward the left of the three.
Coming up behind the herd is another onix but this one, there's someone riding it. They get closer allowing the three friends to see that it's a girl. The girl on the Onix gets closer and stops. She has seen Sura, Ross, and Lyla. A pretty thirteen year old with long brown hair and wearing blue coveralls with a white blouse, the girl calls out to the three,
"You have to be careful. Our herd of Onix are pretty nervous bout something."
"Oh? What?" Sura asks.
"Don't know," the girl shrugs. "I gotta round em up before its too late though."
"Can I help?" Sura asks.
The girl looks at Sura and her friends, seeming to weigh the offer carefully. Her voice, sounds beautiful like a singing angel as she agrees. Lyla and Ross join the girl up on her Onix as Sura calls out her ponyta. She and ponyta walk--or rather run beside the onix.
"Um, can you tell us your name? I'm Sura and I want to be the world's greatest Pokemon Master," Sura quires. The girl looks over at her.
"I'm sorry. My name's Tania."
Onix roars causing Tania to look at the herd, "we have to stop them before they hurt themselves."
"What could hurt Onix?" Lyla asks.
Tania shrugs as her onix moves forward, going faster and forcing Sura's ponyta to speed up slightly.
AHEAD OF THE ONIX HERD
two sinister characters are waiting for the Onix's arrival.
"Ha Ha Ha Ha! That was a stroke of genius starting that explosion. Those Onix will be perfect for the Boss," Anita chuckles with a smile at her lips and her hands up over her mouth.
"I figured you'd like it Anita. Your ryhorn did the job perfectly. Now, we wait for those onix and spring out trap," Alex answers. The two laugh evilly.
The two Team Rocket members are standing a bit away from a large, deep hole that was covered up with bits of grass, dirt, and sticks. The two feel the vibration of the stampeding Onix getting closer.
"Here they come!" Anita laughs.
Anita and Alex hide behind some bushes close by as they wait.
THE HERD OF ONIX
with Sura, Tania, Ross, and Lyla keeping up with the herd.
"How did the Onix start running,Tania?" Sura asks her.
"Not really sure. There was this loud explosion and then the onix started going crazy and took off," Tania answers.
Sura, Ross, and Lyla look over at each other when Tania told them what happened. Ponyta and Onix, with their riders continues to move on.
The herd of onix continue on, grunting and growling as they move.
"Why are they going this way anyway?" Lyla asks.
"It's their way back to the ranch," Tania replies.
I really should get in some training with my pokemon. I mean defeating Team Rocket's all well and good but I really want to teach them new attacks and stuff. Sura thinks to herself once the silence between them begins.
Ponyta and Onix continues on, as the four young people hope the herd returns safely home.
Finally, after a while, Sura turns ponyta away. Tania stops her onix to look at her.
"Hey Sura, where you going?!" Ross calls out in question.
"I'll be back guys," Sura said, moving away from them and in to the forest.
Ross grunts in reply as Sura and Ponyta disappears in the forest. The onix continues on.
IN THE FOREST
Sura releases all her pokemon and as they're around her, Sura plops down on the ground lost in thought.
I know pokemon have the ability to learn new and more powerful attacks but how to teach my pokemon? she thinks
"Pich?" Pichu stares at Sura questionly.
Sura looks at her pokemon, then answers, "Its okay guys. Everything's gonna be okay. We didn't follow the others because I wanted to get in some training with you."
Her pokemon nod. For the past thirty minutes, Sura trains her pokemon each in one new attack.
FIRST FIVE MINUTES
Sura stands with her pichu. She has her pichu work on building its strength then starts to teach the pichu its new attack.
Pichu standing twenty feet from a tree stump. Sura stands slightly behind the pokemon.
"Okay pichu, slowly gather in your electricity first.... Let it build and build till you just have to release it. Only don't yet."
With Sura speaking, the little pichu's cheek pouches are starting to really sparkle and the pichu is actually trembling in reaction. Sura watchs closely, then instructs her pichu some more, "Okay pichu, let out the electricity in one big burst letting it spread instead of the single burst, all above that there tree stump."
"PIII CHUUUU!"Pichu exclaims as it releases the attack up in to the airi.
The electricity spreads outward from them and starts raining down on the tree stump. After nmerous strikes the tree stump explodes as pichu and Sura take cover during this little 'storm'.
"Pi?" came from pichu as they get to their feet again. The tree stump was not even there anymore.
"Good work Pichu!"Sura congradulates the pokemon. "We'll work on your control later. Let's call that your Thunder Storm attack."
"Pi pichu." smiling happily.
"You want to practice your new attack, is that it Pichu?" Sura asks looking at pichu intently. Pichu nods its head vigorously.
"Well, I don't see why not. You can also practice the control that goes with it while I'm helping the others," Sura nods.
"Pi pi chu. Pich pi."
Pichu moves away from Sura for room to practice.
WITH HER CHIKORITA
Sura's with her chikorita now. The two are standing close together.
"Okay chikorita, I want to give you an excellent defense so you can dodge certain attacks you would normally be weak against. Then we'll work out some offensive moves." Sura begins.
"Chika."
Now the two face off against each other.
"Chika?" Chikorita gives off a confused sound, staring at Sura, now before the pokemon.
"Okay chikorita, from those type of pokemon you're normally weak again I want you to kind of dodge...," Sura says.
"Chika."
With Sura helping, Chikorita dances around while sending out leaf petals to confuse. The leaf petals swirl around Chikorita as bait for any attack. At some point, Sura has her ponyta send fire spin at chikorita who dances out of the way leaving the leaf petals to take the brunt of the attack. Sura smiles at this as chikorita effectively dodges the attack.
"Good Chikorita, we'll call that move Grass Dance," Sura answers.
"Chika chika!" Chikorita says nuzzling Sura. The girl hugs the pokemon back. Chikorita moves away to practice its new attack.
NEXT POKEMON---SENTRET
Sura and Sentret are standing before a small bush.
"You can be tricky Sentret and that can be your strength...." Sura begins.
"Sen tret," the Sentret stares up at Sura, curiously.
"I want you to do a normal tackle attack but instead you quickly leap up from your tail and landing on that bush's head."
"Sen?"
Sura and Sentret practice the attack on the bush. Sentret rushes the bush dodging left and right. Its body, practically a blur. Then, using its tail, Sentret launches itself high in to the air. The landing is hard. Sura moves over to the bush and looks. Several branches from the bush are on the ground, broken by Sentret's landing.
"Yes! You did it Sentret!" Sura exclaims grinning broadly.
"Sen sen tret."
Sura nods, "We'll call that your Surprise Attack. And boy, will they be surprised."
"Sen! Sen sen tret!" In excitement and moves away to practice its new attack.
WITH EEVEE
Sura is giving instructions to her eevee in its newest attack, the Quick Tackle Attack. Eevee listens to Sura before trying the attack for the first time.
"Remember eevee use the quickness and combining it with your tackle attack," Sura directs.
"Eevee!"
Running at another bush, the little eevee is a little brown blur faster than a normal eevee usually runs. Sura squints her eyes to better see the eevee. Then, the brown blur tackles the bush and uprooting it completely so that now the bush lays on the ground.
Sura claps in excitement at her eevee,
"That was great eevee!"
"Eeve!" Eevee returns to Sura's side. The little pokemon is also excited at what it had done. Now its excited and wants to work on its new attack. Sura gives the okay.
NOW ITS PIDGEY'S TURN
in a clearing not far from where Sura had come from is the site for Sura and her bird pokemon. Pidgey's floating in front of her listening to the girl intently. The pokemon had seen the stronger newer attacks Sura had taught to her other pokemon and wanted to learn something new. Now, it was going to get its chance.
"Okay pidgey, since you've got some excellent maneuverability, I've got a nifty attack for you," the girl starts.
"Pidge!" Pidgey said doing an airel circle and back to Sura.
Sura begins by helpng her pidgey work on its moving around, dodging. Then she moves on to instructing pidgey in diving and pulling up quickly. Pidgey now begins to learn its gust attack in a newer, stronger and more effective way. Instead of flapping its wings for the gust attack, pidgey flaps once as small multiple tornado storms appear sending a bush up in the air. Pidgey stops as the bush falls to earth.
"Yes!" Sura exclaims as her bird pokemon is also excited. "We'll call that attack your, um, Multiple Pinpoint Tornado Strike!"
"Pidge!" it said.
WITH SURA AND PONYTA
Sura has her ponty cantering around, its flames billowing behind it.
"Thats it ponya. Now, go faster, lettng the flames flair out yet protecting your head and me," Sura mutters. Ponyta sped up as its flame flairs. Looking at Ponyta run now would be like seeing a streaking fire corona.
Now Ponyta charges at the tree stump causing it to fall over, smoking from the attack.
"Oh Yes!" Sura exclaims as ponyta comes to a stop.
Sura and ponyta are now making their way back to rejoin Ross and Lyla. Pichu perching on the girl's should, hanging on.
WITH ROSS AND LYLA
the three comes upon the side of the first of the Onix.
"See, there's the ranch. The onix are heading straight there," Tania points ahead where in the distance a structure can be seen.
Then the first Onix disappears with a bellow followed by the next and the next like a train. Tania's onix on the other hand, stops in surprise when the first Onix had disappeared.
"What is going on?!" Taniia asks iin exclaimation.
"Ha Ha Ha Ha!" voices are heard before the disappearing Onix.
Then that sickly music Ross and Lyla know so well sounds. Its TEAM ROCKET!
"You got some trouble!" the female voice begins loudly. Lyla and Ross recognize the voice as belonging to Anita.
"And now make it double!" came Alex's voice.
"To infect the world with devastation!"
"And get it read for integration!"
"To trample the way through truth and love!"
Tania, Ross, and Lyla listens until Tania turns to Ross and Lyla and asks,
"Do you know these clowns?"
"Sory of, they're Team Rocket," Lyla answers.
"And they're totally easy to defeat," Ross said. Tania's brows raise. She had heard of Team Rocket, an organization who wants to take over the through world by using pokemon to their dirty work.
"Really?!" she questions.
"Yep," Ross agrees. Alex and Anita notices that the three aren't listening.
"HEY! PAY ATTENTION!" Anita yells causing Ross, Lyla, and Tania to go silent looking at them.
"That's better," Alex said. He clears his throat. "By stomping the might from the stars above!"
Now Alex and Anita come out of hiding standing together.
"Anita!"
"Alex!"
"Team Rocket! Knocking good of at the speed of light!" they exclaim in unison. "You better surrender or prepare to fight!"
Their Hitmonchan steps forward, strikes its punching pose and at the same time,
"Hitmonchan!"
"Why are you here, Team Rocket?!" Lyla exclaims in question.
"We're here for these Onix and now we've got them," Anita laughs.
"Having is not keeping!" Tania shouts.
"And what're you going to do? Yell for your mommy?" Anita taunts.
That makes Lyla mad. The taunt. She takes out a pokeball and tosses it before them.
"Go Wooper!" she exclaims as she tosses out the pokeball.
"Abra! YOu're up!" Ross yells as his abra comes from the pokeball he tosses out.
"A fight you want eh. Okay. Ryhorn go!"
"Pinsir!"
The two pokemon appear, coming at Wooper and Abra.
"Ryhorn, rock throw!"
"Pinsir, twin needle!"
Ryhorn going after abra and Pinsir, Wooper as the two attack.
Abra is hit many times from ryhorn's rock throw as Wooper is doing a merry dance trying to stay away from pinsir's twin needle attack.
"Wooper water gun!"
"Abra teleport then confusion!"
With their pokemon about to win, Alex and Anita are dancing around chanting,
"We're gonna win!"
As ryhorn and pinsir are about to deal the finishing attack to wooper and abra, another female voice comes to all of their ears. A voice that brings smiles to Lyla and Ross,
"Pichu, Thunder Storm!"
Anita and Alex stop their dance to look at each other in confusion.
"Thunder Storm?!" Anita eeps shortly before Sura's pichu leaps in the airi for them to see, lightning crackling around the small pokemon.
"Pi----CHUUUU!"
Electricity spreads outward from the sky then rains down on ryhorn and pinsir. They scream in reaction. A small explosion as ryhorn and pinsir fly back in to Alex and Anita.
"Noooo!" the exclaim as they're pokemon hit them. Then ryhorn, pinsir, hitmonchan, Alex and Anita take off in the air, tumbling and tumbling.
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!!!" Alex and Anita exclaims before becoming distant dots in the sky.
"Pich," Pichu says on landing in Sura's arms. Sura had come riding up to them on ponyta.
"You guys okay?" she asks.
"How---How'd your pichy do that attack?" Ross asks her.
"What, Thunder Storm?" Sura inquires holding her pichu in her arms still.
"Yeah. Hod'd you teach pichu that attack?" Lyla speaks up in question.
Sura shrugs," just did."
Before Sura can say anything else about pichu's newest attack, Tania speaks up,
"We have to help the onix now."
"Right!" Sura exclaims.
LATER
the four are on the road. Tania on her onix as Sura, Lyla, and Ross are about to leave.
"Thank you for helping," Tania says.
"Its no problem. Team Rocket needed to get beat again," Lyla agreed.
"Yeah. I hope you fulfill your dreams," Tania answers.
Sura nods as the three friends begin walking away. Tania waves as do the three while walking.

Author's Notes: Whew! I'm glad chapter 6 of the new pokemon is finished. Stay tuned as Sura's pokemon learn new attacks. Well, I won't spoil it for you.
